Application - Juxtaposer

Juxtapose allows us to combine several images to create curious photomontages. To do this, it implements an incredibly simple and intuitive interface.

The operation is simple. We will cut out a fragment of a photograph that we have stored on our iPhone / iPod Touch and we will paste it into another photograph, after modifying the cut fragment.

In the full version of this article you will find a complete tutorial on how to use this great program.

In this review we are going to analyze the complete application, since it is the one that includes the most options.

The first thing we will do to use this application is to choose two photos from our image library.

Once the 2 images have been selected, we will select the image from which we want to cut out an area. In it, we will erase with our finger the areas that we want to eliminate from the image. For greater comfort, we can zoom in and out the image (zoom in y Zoom out) for better precision in erasing unwanted parts. In the same way, we can rotate the image, to give it the inclination we want.

There is a help guide that is included with the program and that we can consult at any time by clicking on the image of the diskette that appears first, at the top left.

The main features of this great application are the following:
- Ability to redo and undo actions unlimitedly.
- Availability of various types of brushes to create sharp or blurred edges.
- Option to use a transparent brush to make the mixture of images not noticeable.
- Possibility of adding more than one fragment of an image to the final image.
- Possibility of saving the created image directly in our image album.
- Possibility of saving several projects at the same time to resume them later.
- Mask mode (for the background image) that will allow us to precisely isolate part of an image to be able to work without taking into account the background image.
- Option to switch between edit mode and full screen display of the image with a single touch of the finger on the screen.
- Option to switch between undo and redo mode with two touches on the screen.
- Possibility of working with our device in a vertical or horizontal position.
- Option to flip the image we are modifying.
- Possibility of modifying the configuration using the "Advanced Configuration" option.

We all know that the iPhone camera leaves, many times, a lot to be desired (remember that it has 2MPx). However, thanks to certain application developers, the options for using the camera are almost endless.

Juxtapose It has received many very good reviews, reflecting the potential it has.

From here we agree with those criticisms. The operation could not be simpler: we select an image, then we select another that we want to superimpose on the original. Finally, we remove the fragments of the new added image so that we get the results we want. Sometimes, as you can see in the images that appear in this post, the results are really surprising.

The main good thing about this application is that more or less, it guides us in the process of creating our project, with the addition that if we make a mistake in any step, we can undo it since, as an important feature, it includes the option to undo changes unlimitedly.

Besides this, a really nice feature is the ability to work in both portrait and landscape mode. This feature gives the user a freedom that very few photo editing applications offer.

The program has 2 versions. One free and one paid, which costs € 2,25, and is available in the AppStore.

In conclusion, comment that this application is aimed primarily at anyone who likes photo editing and retouching. Still, anyone can use this application without problems, given its incredible ease of use.
You can purchase this application in the AppStore from the following links:

Free Version -> Juxtaposer Lite

Paid Version (€ 2,25) -> Juxtapose

I hope you enjoy it.
