How to listen to music from iPhone 7 with headphones while charging it (according to Apple)

dock-lightning-headphones

One of the questions that many media and users asked when the first rumors began to emerge in which it was claimed that Apple planned to eliminate the headphone jack completely, was how users could listen to their favorite music with headphones while the iPhone is charged, since the headphone connection would become lightning as was finally confirmed in the presentation of the iPhone 7 two days ago. This problem for now and until we get used to it, only affects the user, not the company. A 9to5Mac reader contacted Phil Schiller to ask how he could charge the iPhone and listen to music at the same time with headphones.

AirPods

To try to solve this "small" problem for the user, Apple has presented AirPods that connect via bluetooth to the device and allow us to listen to music from our iPhone without cables while we are charging the device. But at a price of € 179, I do not think it is a solution for users who will only buy this new iPhone.

Here is Phil's response to the user:

Hi Zaheen,

I like to listen on my AirPods while my iPhone 7 Plus is charging because I am free to move around.
However, if you would like to listen to wired headphones while charging an iPhone 7 it is possible to do that as well.
The Apple Lightning Dock includes a headphone jack for using wired headphones or speakers while charging.
I hope that helps.

According to Phil Schiller, the solution is to "buy" the Lightning Dock for the iPhone that allows us to charge our iPhone 7 and to which we can connect headphones while it charges. This dock has a price in the Apple Store of 45 euros.

You have been comfortable with your answer. If the user is the first time to buy an iPhone and does not have a headphone with a 3,5 jack on hand (unlikely but not impossible) he would also have to buy a new headset. According to the answer, Apple has solutions for everything, as long as you checkout.

In my next article I offer you a solution for be able to listen to your favorite music with the new EarPods while you charge the iPhone 7.

the connection of the airpods is by bluetooth? I thought I understood that it was wirelessly created by a dedicated chip in the device and the new chip in the airpods.

Yes, because they can also be connected to other devices other than Apple, as I have been able to read.

Get used to the BT and do not complain, but understand some cheaper, better and that do not fall from the ears…. These AirPods will fall fixed, at least many….
