Lock Screen Weather, lock screen weather forecast without Jailbreak

With the notification center of iOS 5 came the long-awaited weather widget but on the lock screen we still cannot check the weather forecast.

A developer has used an original and "sloppy" method to fill this gap that Apple is unable to offer users. For this, it has created the Lock Screen Weather application that what it does is play a sound through the music application and the cover of said sound will be the prediction.

As you know, when we listen to music and lock the iPhone, what appears on the lockscreen is precisely the album cover. If you don't want to hear the sound, Lock Screen Weather allows you to mute it.

Now I return to the point where I said that this method is "sloppy" and that is that having the time on the lock screen entails a series of sacrifices: greater battery consumption by constantly playing a song, we are left without any other sound ( ringtones and SMS included) and we will not be able to listen to our own music either.

Undoubtedly an application full of good intentions but that does not compensate what it contributes for the problems that occur after its activation.

Is there something similar for those of us who have jailbreak? In Cydia for example?

In Cydia there are many options available to do this without the need to play a sound and for years. Greetings

Hello Nacho. Would you be so kind as to give some examples? Thank you.

lockinfo (for iOS 4) and intellyscreenx (for iOS 5) for example. If you want a visual theme with winterboard you just have to google it, there are dozens with widgets.

I bought it, installed it and after half an hour I uninstalled it (money wasted)
It is an application that remains -as such- open in the background and with the music application open, so if you want to put -at the same time- music under this application, one of two, either you close this application or you do not listen to music
Ah! And if you restart the phone, you also have to reopen this weather application ...
Anyway, a very good idea but its developers still have to polish it ...

I know it doesn't go here but does cydia springflash work well for anyone? Because I install it, it does not give me any error but then the icon is not anywhere by spotlight I look for it and it does not come out and with the sbsettings button I give it and the flash does not turn on
    Someone else happens?
    Thanks in advance!

The truth is that the idea is ingenious, but without jb Apple does not allow any kind of modification to the OS. Store apps cannot modify anything related to the system a priori, but for that we have the jb.

By the way I think springflash is still incompatible with 5.0.1, so it doesn't work for you in this version.

    Greetings and Happy New Year.

As they say here, the application has a series of drawbacks, but the idea is original in any case. Even so, I have always had the doubt why Apple does not adopt more ideas than what is in Cydia for its operating system (the most functional or popular at least), that is, there are things that ios has adopted, but I think that if there were More customization options in the OS or if it allows it with a payment application I think they would not even need to invest money blocking the possible holes for Jailbreak because their clients could supply most of their needs by paying a couple of dollars, which it would also mean extra income for Apple. I imagine there must be a reason for Apple not to do it, but I don't know what it will be 🙁

Springflash works perfectly in 5.0.1, (in mine, my girlfriend's and my friend's) from sbsettings and pressing the sleep button twice (above).

      Happy New Year to everyone!

Springflash if it works .. Try in cydia to also install the toggles .. So you look for Springflash and you install it and you look for Springflashtoggle and you install it .. Surely that's why .. Then you enter the app that is installed from sbsettings and give set window toggles and add it.

Very good to everyone!! I may be wrong, but when you listen to music and a call or SMS comes in, the music is not muted and the ringtone or SMS tone sounds? When I listen to music and they call me, the music is silenced and the ringtone sounds, just like when I receive an SMS. I have not bought this application, so I cannot be sure if the ringtone sounds with it.
As for springflash, I have 5.0.1 and it works perfectly for me. When I installed it for the first time, I installed springflash first and then the toggles and it did not work for me. I uninstalled it and install springflash toggles first and it self-installs with the springflash and it works perfectly for me. Then I have installed it on several iPhone 4 in this way and it works for all. One of them installed it like this and it didn't work but with a reboot, everything was solved.
    A greeting!
