LSStepCount: add a step counter to the iPhone 5S (Cydia) lock screen

Users with a iPhone 5S have the jailbreak done are in luck, as they can add a step counter to the screen iOS lock and status bar thanks to tweak LSStepCount. Thanks to the M7 coprocessor present in the latest model of the Apple phone this is possible, without having to download any of the applications that exist in the App Store as a pedometer.

In this way we can have on the left of the device's lock screen a small step counter that will measure everything that we walk with our iPhone on. It is a feature already used by the Samsung Galaxy S5 and now thanks to the Jailbreak it is possible to take it to iOS. LSStepCount is still a tweak in beta phase, but it does its basic job.

LSStepCount catches

To install it on our iPhone 5S we must add this repository to Cydia: http://cydia.myrepospace.com/shinvou/ Once installed we need to restart the device for LSStepCount to take effect, then it will ask us permission to access motion data of the M7 coprocessor of the iPhone 5S. Once we accept the tweak it will work and if we walk a bit we will see how the counter increases. In the tweak settings we can choose if the counter appears on the lock screen, in the status bar and in addition to being able to choose the time format so that the counter is well framed in the bar.

The only flaw at the moment of LSStepCount is that access to sensor information motion M7 it is not immediate, the update of steps goes to jumps, if for example we lock the device and we unlock it again they will be updated, so this aspect will be being corrected by its developer for when the tweak is no longer in beta.

What do you think of LSStepCount? Have you tried it?
