M8, a free GPS for your iPhone

GPS for iPhone

If we go to the App Store looking for an app that serves as a GPS navigator, we will find that the best ones like TomTom or Navigon cost a lot of money, but luckily there are also free alternatives that can be worth it. The question is: Is it worth the savings?

It depends on the needs

The most important thing when choosing an application that acts as GPS on our iPhone is to take into account what we are going to use it, since if the use is going to be very sporadic it is not worth doing a big outlay, but if instead we travel a lot by car, it may be better for us to spend the money on a good app.

M8 is an application that can serve all those who need use GPS very from time to time, but it has a big problem: both the iOS 6 Maps application and the Google Maps application seem much more reliable and graphically superior to M8, something that leaves it in a worrying place since these two apps also they are free on the App Store.

Very inferior

When we compare M8 with paid applications such as TomTom or Navigon we have no choice but to reach the obvious conclusion that the faces justify its price, so I strongly recommend that if you use the iPhone's GPS frequently (I understand 2-3 times a week for frequently) you get a reliable and renowned application, since it will avoid the odd displeasure. and it will always be much more up-to-date.

It would be wrong to say that M8 is a GPS that does not comply, because it does. The issue is that of all those that comply, it is the poorest graphically, the one that takes the longest to position ourselves on the map -something that can get desperate- and it is also the worst in attention to detail. If you can go for a paid application without a doubt you will not regret it, but if what you want is to have a GPS at zero cost I am afraid that, although they are simpler and with fewer options, both the Google option and the Apple are much better on practically every level.

Hopefully with time they continue improving the application and manage to become a real alternative, since for me at the moment it is not.
