Masks has just been updated to be compatible with iOS 7. This Cydia tweak, already one of the classics, allows you to change the appearance of your springboard icons without using other applications such as Winterboard, with the advantages that this entails in in terms of device and battery performance. Masks apply a mask to the icons, which has as a result that you can apply shapes to all of them, making them round, with star shapes, or whatever you can imagine. You also have the ability to apply transparencies. The application includes dozens of different shapes, but it also allows you to create your own, so the customization options are unlimited.
It's easy to configure the look of your icons. From the Settings> Masks menu you can access the options offered by the tweak. Choose the mask you want to apply, use the default effect or choose to use it inverted, or use the masks in a totally random way. It even allows you to change the color of the icons. An option that also includes is apply a mask to the springboard, so that the same effect that you get with the icons, you can also get it with the wallpaper of your springboard.
As we indicated before, the application allows you to include your own skins. For it follow the instructions below:
- Create an icon with a white background sized appropriately for the device (59 × 59 on non-Retina devices, 78 × 78 on non-Retina iPads, 118 × 118 on Retina devices)
- Create the mask, for which you have to add a black image to the previously created icon. That image will be the one that forms the icon.
- Save the file in png format, with the name "mask45.png" or "mask45@2x.png" if it is Retina, using the number following the last of the existing masks.
- Save it in "/ var / mobile / Library / Masks / Default /", inside the folder that corresponds to the device,
You have the complete instructions in the Settings> Masks> Instructions menu. The tweak is now available on Cydia, on the BigBoss repo, for $ 1,99.
