Microsoft releases new firmware for Xbox controllers that improves connectivity and latency with iOS devices

XBOX CLOUD GAMING

Microsoft has announced, through its blog, the launch of a new firmware, still in beta, for the controls Xbox One, Xbox Elite 2 y Xbox Adaptive Controllers that improve the latency between devices in addition to adding support for Bluetooth Low Energy that improves connectivity with devices managed by iOS15 and iPadOS 15.

If you want to try this new firmware, you can through Microsoft's Insider program, a new firmware that adds features previously only available on X Series and S Series controllers, according to the Redmond company.

In Microsoft's statement, we can read:

These controllers are now compatible with Bluetooth Low Energy, which offers better compatibility between devices and allows a better pairing experience. You can play wirelessly on Windows 10 PCs, iOS 15+, and Android devices with Bluetooth Low Energy to play remotely from your console or play in the cloud with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on the go. After installing the firmware update, these controllers will remember a Bluetooth host (for example, a smartphone) and an Xbox Wireless host (for example, an Xbox console), so you can quickly and seamlessly switch between previously connected devices with a simple double tap the pairing button.

The company also claims that the update includes support for Dynamic Latency Input that transmits the response of the controls to the console in a much faster and more efficient way.

This new firmware still is in alpha phase, but you can join the program Xbox Insiders and start testing, although being in alpha phase, personally I would wait until it reached beta phase.
