Microsoft's suite of iOS applications is constantly expanding. The company recently announced that another of its famous desktop applications is making its way onto Apple's mobile platform: Visio. For those unfamiliar, Visio is a popular and reliable diagramming tool that enables users to create and view highly detailed diagrams. Now, Microsoft creates a version for iPad, as well as another online. "Visio Viewer" for iPad is now available and allows users to share diagrams securely.
According to Microsoft, “Visio diagrams often contain data that customers might miss on smaller screens. Built for the Retina display of the iPad, Visio Viewer for iPad brings great display quality. With the new exploration experience, for example, plant managers can launch production line issues from remote facilities, financial advisors can examine detailed workflows of a loan approval process while visiting clients across the world…". Microsoft has also confirmed that Visio will make its iPhone debut "in the coming months."
Along with that, Cortana for iOS has also been updated with a new clean and simple design that integrates frequently used items such as reminders or the weather. This also means that creating or viewing reminders is very easy and quick to access. Those reminders, of course, still sync to Cortana on a Windows 10 PC or laptop, too. Cortana cards have also undergone a major cleanup.
In addition to reviewing the appearance, Microsoft has also made performance improvements to the application, allowing users to find results more quickly. The new update will be available in the coming days on Android and iOS. Microsoft has also finally made Cortana available to UK users, an expected arrival despite the app having been available in the US for more than a year.
