The 3D Touch feature debuted with iPhone 6s and iOS 9, slowly but steadily improving version by version, with more options available. iOS 12 has not been an exception and brings us new shortcuts that will allow us to perform tasks just by pressing a little more the screen rather than simply touching an icon.
If you would like to scanning a QR code or document is now within reach with a simple touch of the screen with a little more pressure than usual thanks to these new shortcuts that are introduced in this new version of iOS. The QR scanner was slow to be introduced in iOS natively, but it seems that Apple has realized that users use it a lot since it has decided to include it in the functions that appear when pressing on the Camera app icon on our springboard . Take a selfie, record a video, take a photo in Portrait Mode and now climb a QR code are the options that appear and that will directly open the camera in that option.
It is an option that I use a lot and that Apple introduced in its Notes application last year in iOS 11, as one of the new features of the system. This is one of the most accurate scanners that I have tested on iOS since allows you to scan documents without worrying too much about whether they are perfectly square on the screen, and it's really fast. Now you will also have it within the reach of a single click on the Notes icon.
These 3D Touch options exist even within the Control Center if we add the Camera and Notes apps to it. We can also add the QR scanner function to the Control Center. Two small novelties that nevertheless improve daily use for those of us who use them frequently.
