Apple takes three out of three this weekintroducing new iPads on Monday, new iMac on Tuesday and, today, new AirPods with wireless charging, a new chip and the "Hey Siri" feature.
The long-awaited AirPods renewal is finally here and now available for purchase from now on the Apple website.
LThe new AirPods as a great novelty include the long-awaited (and already presented) wireless charging box with the LED on the front. Wireless charging is compatible with Qi charging docks (and the long-awaited AirPower). They also have the Lightning connection of the old AirPods.
The other big news is the "Hey Siri" feature, which will allow us to invoke the Apple assistant with our voice, without having to double-tap one of the AirPods.
The AirPods themselves seem to have also been revamped with the new H1 chip, which "include optical sensors and motion accelerometers that allow you to detect if you are wearing them" and which are independent for each headset and which improve connection times when changing from one device to another.
Also, when you talk on the phone or ask Siri for something, a second accelerometer activates the microphones with beamforming technology to filter out background noise and bring your voice to the fore. Beamforming technology is what we met with the HomePod in its presentation.
The battery still offers 5 hours of music and 3 hours of talk time (1 hour more than the previous version) and that, thanks to the charge of the box, allows us more than 24 hours of use.
It costs € 229 for AirPods with wireless charging case and € 179 for AirPods with normal charging case. Both AirPods have been renewed and the AirPods without wireless charging maintain the price of the past AirPods. We can also buy only the wireless charging box for € 89.
AirPods with wireless charging case will be available at 3 - 5 business days and AirPods with normal charging case by March 26 - 28.
