The other day we published the news of the return of TinyUmbrella, a classic in the "unofficial" applications for iPhone and iPad that in other times was useful to us to install the firmware version we wanted. Although still in beta, this first version already served to recover the valuable SHSH in the hope that one day they will recover their value again and serve us to install the firmware we want. Now it's just launched a new version that fixes some bugs and improves some aspects of TinyUmbrella.
This new version, which can be downloaded from the official website of the application, includes the following improvements:
- 32-bit and 64-bit detection: TinyUmbrella and iTunes must have the same architecture (32-bit or 64-bit). In the event that it is different, the application will notify you to install the correct version. Otherwise it will not be able to detect your device.
- Performance improvements: fixed some problems in the start of the application and in the handling of the files that have already been solved.
- Old SHSH issues: some very old SHSH versions (3.x versions) were not well detected by TinyUmbrella, which has been fixed in this new version.
- Improvement in the connection to TSS servers: to prevent the connection from being detected and our IP banned.
- Highlight device when choosing an SHSH: in the saved SHSH table, selecting one will highlight the device to which it corresponds.
- Other improvements and bug fixes.
Available for Windows and Mac OS X, although we do not have more details of what its use will be, everything indicates that soon there will be an application that allows us to restore our device with those SHSH to a certain version, regardless of whether Apple signs it or not. Until then, it is best that you download TinyUmbrella and save the SHSH for what may happen.
