A few hours ago, the news of iOS 8 was just presented, which will arrive on our devices next fall, as usual. The devices that will be able to install this new version of iOS are the following: iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, iPod 5 generation, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4, iPad Air, iPad Mini and iPad Mini Retina. The device that has been left out has been the already veteran iPhone 4.

iOS 8, according to Apple, is designed for developers and for the general public. With iOS 8 Apple wants to make controlling our devices a natural thing, without complications and each improvement made has a specific purpose so that iOS becomes even more efficient if possible. With the new features that have been introduced in iOS 8, using an iDevice becomes a surprising experience from the first moment and becomes indispensable without realizing it in our day to day.

With iOS 8, Apple has given developers access to more tools, such as the ability to add new keyboards, more ways to share the content of our device, use iCloud and Touch ID with third-party applications among many other things.

New in Photos

From now on, every photo, every edited or retouched photo, every album that we create on our device, thanks to iCloud Photo Library it will be available on all Apple devices that we have associated with the same account automatically. The Photos application will allow us to more easily find our favorite images, rediscover the ones we already had stored, with the new and powerful editing tools that have been added to the application.

Also, if we do a search by places, the application gives us the option to search for photographs taken near the place we have established and classifies them for years. We can also straighten the images, which without realizing it or because of the rush, have come out with the tilted horizon.

What's New in Messages

As we can do with most instant messaging applications, the messages application will allow us to add audio messages to share with our friends. As well allows us to send video messages showing what you are seeing at that moment, share the location where we are. The way we can send photos and videos in a single message has also been improved.

New Design

Among the news we find various visual aspects that have been improved to facilitate the user to interact with our device such as:

  • Interactive notifications. Finally Apple allows us to respond directly when we receive a notification without having to open it. In this way we can respond to messages as soon as we receive the notification without opening the application. We can also accept or decline invitations to events, mark emails as read or delete them if they are spam, interact with reminders, comment on Facebook status, among many other things.
  • When we access multitasking, The contacts with whom we have recently maintained we have interacted will appear at the top. By clicking on any of them, we will see the options to send a message, call or make a call using FaceTime.

What's new in Mail

Within the Mail application, we have three main novelties:

  • When we are answering an email and we want to attach an image of another email or text, we can scroll the message window down, select the content we want to copy and return to the mail window we were writing to continue.
  • We can also add bookmarks to emails simply by swiping the message to the right. Previously, we could only Delete it or a submenu where we could perform other functions. If we slide our finger to the left, we can mark the message as read.
  • When we receive a message from a contact that we have in our agenda, the application gives us the option to add it directly.

What's new in Safari

The Safari application has been redesigned to resemble the version for OS X.

  • The presentation of the pages that we have saved presents us with a miniature image of them, instead of the previous presentation that did not allow us to identify at a glance what they corresponded to.
  • Has been added a sidebar that we slide from the right to see our bookmarks, reading list and shared links.

New keyboards

iOS 8 brings us one of the biggest changes since the keyboard of the first iPhone. Hereinafter, we have the possibility to change the keyboard to select the one that best suits our way of writing.

With a couple of taps we can write a complete sentence, since as we write, words adapted to the text we are writing will appear. The iOS 8 keyboard is learning our writing language adjusting to each person and offering us a selection of words adjusted to our writing. This new keyboard will be available in 14 languages, including Spanish.

Family Sharing

Admittedly, Family Sharing is a very good idea. The new application that will be available in iOS 8, will allow us to share what is important to a family, such as photos, videos, iDevices calendars, reminders, I include locating the place where our children or relatives are for our peace of mind.

Also with Family Sharing, we can share all the content we buy on our iDevice with the rest of the family, up to a maximum of 6 devices. That is, we can buy movies, books, games / applications and allow users of our family to download them without having to go through the box.

Another novelty, and surely in order to avoid more problems with in-app purchases made by the children of the owners of the devices, and also any type of purchase that you want to make in the App Store, from now on the account owner, let's call him account master, you will receive a message asking for your approval for a family member to make a purchase.

And my question is: do we still not have true multitasking?

For now, we will continue without multitasking. Unless for autumn, when iOS 8 is officially launched, Apple wants to surprise us.

Well, honestly, it seems to me a delay that today a product like the iPad Air does not have real multitasking. Hopefully they will wake up in some aspects more focused on work and the professional sector.

Well, I honestly think the same as you. Multitasking would be ideal to be able to use the iPad at a professional level. Personally, in my work, not having multitasking, my use limits a lot.
