New update for Apple's MagSafe battery now available

Apple has released a new firmware update for Magsafe battery thus reaching version 2.7.b.0. How is it updated? How can you know what version you have installed?

In addition to the new Betas that Apple has released today, the company has released a new firmware update for its portable battery, the only external battery that Apple has in its catalog. Compatible with the new iPhone 12 and 13, the only ones that incorporate the MagSafe system, this external battery also receives updates that improve its performance, and the new version is already available and will be reaching all the owners of it in the next few hoursmaybe days. How is the battery updated? What news does it include? How can you tell which version you have installed?

Unfortunately two of the three questions do not have any certain answers. We don't know exactly how the battery is updated, and therefore there is no way to force the update. Owners of a MagSafe Battery only have the option of placing the battery in their iPhone, and preferably connected to charging via Lightning cable, and wait for the update to arrive on their device. We also do not know anything about the changes that this new update brings, since Apple does not release any list of changes with this new firmware. It is not the first update you receiveAlready last year, in December, Apple updated the device to version 2.5.b.0.

What we can know is what version we have in our Magsafe battery. To do this we must enter the settings of our iPhone with the battery connected to it. Within the General-Information menu, at the bottom of it, we will see a section that indicates the version of the MagSafe Battery. Although it is the only official MagSafe battery for sale, there are already many other models from other brands with even better performance and at much lower prices, such as the Anker y UGREEN that we also analyze on our channel.
