An important novelty that demonstrates the change in Apple's mentality in the eighth version of iOS, is the possibility of adding extensions, which allow us improve the functioning of our device, expanding the range of possibilities for applications to communicate with each other. Another novelty is found in Continuity that allows us to start a task on one device (for example on the iPhone) and finish it on a completely different one, be it Mac or iPad, receive calls on our Mac (if we have an iPhone) among other things but until October we will not be able to use it.
A feature that will allow us to know how and which applications "drink" our battery (available for quite some time on Android devices) will be available in this new version of iOS 8. We will no longer have to make speculations about which application is the cause of the drastic reduction in the percentage of our device.
