Next week Apple will start cleaning the App Store

App Store

In recent years, the Google app store has exceeded the number of apps available in the App Store. But having more does not mean that the available applications have higher quality or are better than those of its rival. Everyone knows that in the Play Store we can find a large number of applications, which we could consider garbage, due to their design, amount of advertising and utility (completely null). Although we can also find these types of apps in the App Store, it must also be recognized that they are in a much lower number than the Google Play Store. Currently in the App Store for iOS we can find more than 1.700.000 applications of which just over a million are compatible with the iPad and 544.000 are universal.

The Cupertino-based company just sent an email to the developers announcing that next week it will start cleaning in the App Store. In the first place, it will begin by eliminating the applications that have stopped working and that are forgotten by their developers, applications or games that have not received updates of any kind in recent years, adapting to the new versions of the company's operating systems. In addition, it will also review all the Apps that currently no longer meet the guidelines established by the company, guides that are updated every year and in which new limitations are established as new possibilities for creators.

But in addition, Apple also wants developers do not use those kilometer names that they sometimes use to describe all the functions that an application or game performs specific. Many users write in the search box the functions that the application does in order to find one that does what they need, since the search engine used is completely useless. Apple has decided that from now on the number of characters available for the title will be 50. Apple does not want the functions of the App to be described in the title. But of course, developers are forced to add the functions in the title Due to the algorithm used in the searches of the App Store, an algorithm that does not search the description of the App, but only focuses on the title.

Personally I consider that before starting to clean other houses, Apple should sweep its own starting with solving your App Store search algorithm problems once and for all. You love developers so much, you should start at the beginning and fix this problem that has plagued developers almost since its inception.
