Apple is registering "Night Shift" for Mac, Apple Watch and CarPlay

Night Shift

On March 21, Apple released iOS 9.3, a version that, like many of those released in the spring, introduced many important new features. Among these novelties, perhaps the most prominent or the one that has been talked about the most is Night Shift, a system that removes red tones from the screen so that, in short, we can sleep better at night and that is based on the application f.lux which had long been available for iOS (via Cydia), for Mac and for Windows.

Night Shift was very well received among users and that may be the reason that has encouraged Apple to bring its system to other devices, as it has discovered Patently Apple. In the list of devices they have included there are some like decorative magnets or dog whistles (Seriously!), But this is relatively normal when registering names or filing a patent and is to cover all possibilities.

Night Shift is coming to the Mac and Apple Watch

Described as "software for controlling the screen of computers and mobiles," Apple intends for Night Shift to cover all the devices they have available today and any other devices they may launch in the future. What makes more sense is that it is present in OS X, but they also consider bringing Night Shift to the Apple Watch and even CarPlay. For those of you who are thinking that it would be dangerous to "help us sleep" in a car, you have to remember that this type of system does not make us drowsy, but rather makes our body understand that it has already been done at night. In other words, that the CarPlay screen changes its color will not cause us anything different than what we feel when we see that it is done at night from our car.

The negative part of this story is that, when they include it in Apple devices by default, f.lux will have it even more difficult than since last March and will only be present on Windows and Android, since they stopped using it for a long time. give support for Linux version. If only they had mentioned it when they presented Night Shift ...
