Yesterday Apple remotely corrected the problem that allowed access to our contacts and photos if we asked Crab to do a search on Twitter. But it seems that this has not been the only readjustment that the Cupertino people have made to their virtual assistant: they have also removed the ability to activate Night Shift (the system that changes the temperature of the screen to help us sleep at night) via Siri when the iPhone or iPad has the power saving mode activated.
In theory, for Night Shift to work it is necessary for the device to make an extra effort that causes greater consumption and reduces autonomy. When we have the device with the energy saving mode activated and we try to activate Night Shift from the settings or the Control Center we will see that the option is not available. By activating the low power mode, Night Shift is automatically deactivated but, until yesterday, it could be activated again via Siri.
Siri "forgets" one of her abilities
Now, when we ask Siri to activate Night Shift while we have the low power mode activated, it will reply «To activate the 'Night Shift' mode, I will have to deactivate the low power mode. Do you want me to continue?»To which we can respond with our voice and, if we say yes, it will deactivate the power saving mode and activate Night Shift.
In order to work, Siri works online, which means that it has to be connected to the Internet to be able to do what we ask. That is why many of your new responses, such as when we ask you to tell us about the next Keynote and you tell us a joke about the event, are applied without us having to update the iOS device. This time they have corrected the aforementioned bug and another bug that many of us could use as a function. What is your opinion?
