noOTA badge: remove the update notice from the Settings icon

Many of you ask us on Twitter and in the comments of other posts about How to remove the update notice that appears in the Settings icon of your iPhone if you have iOS 5.0As you know, the update to 5.0.1 can be done through the iPhone settings as long as you are connected to a Wifi network, this is called an OTA (Over The Air) update.

To remove it, you just have to enter Cydia and install the noOTA badge modification, then you do a respring and voila, the update icon will disappear. It is not something that bothers me, but I know that many of you were looking for it.

You can download it free on Cydia.

You will find it in the BigBoss repo.
You need to have done the jailbreak.

Hi, I have ios 5 installed, and I go to settings, in the OTA updates option, it appears that there is an update to download and install. But I don't get the 1 balloon with the notification! I have a friend with ios 5 that if it works out, but he has to install an update directly, could that be why? Is it normal that I do not get the notification? Thanks a lot!

Well, I will tell you about my mysterious experience: I have it in IOS 5 and I did not want to update because I am waiting for the untethered (apparently there is no rush). And the famous balloon came out and there was no human way to remove it (I don't have it jailbroken). And one day I decided to do a manual respring ... the iphone did something strange to me because it took a long time and the progress bar appeared on the block, but it turns out that when the balloon started it was no longer there and I am still in 5.0 ... And the balloon has not come out again ... mysterious ... Has it happened to someone else? All the best

Good Morning. In the 4s it came out but since there is no jailbreak. What I did was start the update and after 2 seconds I took the card out and naturally it interrupted, or you turn it off by forcing it with the 2 buttons at the same time 5-7 seconds and when it came back to itself it no longer appeared.
    Greetings: Alberto
