Opinion: Clarifying Yesterday's Conference II

iPhone 4

In view of the interesting comments you have written, I have not been able to resist writing again. First of all I want to clarify that the iPhone 4 is NOT faulty. It has no defects, it loses coverage like any mobile phone, but it does not have a defect. According to some readers, the short circuit does not occur or anything, the only problem with the 4 is that it loses the same coverage as all mobile phones.

Incom2 has asked some very interesting questions that I hope I can answer without making mistakes:

- Why does it only happen when you touch that point, that is, when you make contact between both antennas with your finger? By placing your hand around the phone, won't we end up touching one antenna with one finger and another with another, and therefore bridging them in the same way?

Well, I am not a telecommunications engineer but I think this is due to the airwaves. When you want a conductor of heat or electricity, you choose a metal, Apple does it with its laptops: it gets the entire Macbook to heat up so that it better dissipates the heat inside; However, for the waves you use "light" materials, that is, in which the telephone waves can pass through it without losing quality. If you communicate the antennas at the key point, you almost act as a conductor, but if you have one finger on one antenna and the other on the other, I don't think you can short-circuit it. However, when he gets the terminal he will do all the possible tests since they have commented that the short circuit does not occur and I do not understand how, being the antenna so large, it only loses coverage when it touches that particular point. As soon as you have the iPhone 4 you will have the corresponding analyzes.

- Did Apple really not realize it, or did they realize it and have also removed the terminal hoping that no one else would notice?

About this I have two theories:

1st. Apple did not realize why it was not happening to them, they had the best coverage and it never happened to them, taking into account that Steve is left-handed I think he noticed that he lost coverage when he took the iPhone.

2nd. Apple knew it and did not care, they launched it under pressure from Jobs and created a suspiciously suitable case to solve the problem. This option fits me with the design of the bumper but I don't think they will release a product supposedly with a big problem.

I do not know what to think, but I think they did not realize because in reality there is not a specific error of the iPhone but there is it in all mobiles, also having quality coverage you will not have problems.

- Shouldn't it be partly the operator's fault for having such poorly covered areas (and above all in the capital ...)?

Operators are certainly to blame. In Madrid it happens because there are many interferences (Wifi, antennas, etc ...).

The operators have a lot to blame and it is that they invest very little in improving infrastructure. For example, it was said that the mobile Flat Rates would be more limited because the networks are saturated, this is a sloppy solution since the infrastructure should be improved in order to continue offering the service well. But it is something that all operators are willing to do. (This also happens with ADSL, which was an ordeal for me to get in Madrid).

As for what is said about Apple's arrogance, I do not deny it, they are somewhat arrogant (like Steve), but a company that was screwed up so much and copied with so much impunity and that, practically, managed to put a personal computer in every house you can boast something. I usually say that you can only boast if you have cured Cancer, but build the best products for work and leisure (Apple), make the best browser and the best web products in history (Google) or revolutionize office automation (Microsoft), with things to show off. Apple showed off its antenna because it is an engineering marvel, an external antenna (like the old ones) but it sticks out. This will allow many mobile phones to be improved in the future, not only the reception of wireless technology, but also the ability to use other products to make mobile phones instead of practically always having to use plastic. Despite the wonder of the antenna, it still has the problem of human absorption of coverage and before this I have a theory: it is that placing the separation holes between the antennas in another place (below for example, but isolating the Dock connector well so that do not touch) could be solved as long as you only lose coverage by covering this (I will do the tests in the future, this is just guesswork).

The iPhone is a mobile phone and therefore coverage is very important, but ALL MOBILE PHONES lose coverage, and if you have an emergency call 112 which is reachable without coverage or if it is an emergency of another type as you try to touch the terminal as little as possible . When I used the iPhone 3G USB modem in Madrid I should not touch it because it lost coverage, and with the Nokia N85 too. The main problem comes from the operators and the human body. If you want to have coverage even in the elevator, then put an antenna like that of satellite phones. All mobiles have this problem and if it is isolated from the human body we will get more coverage for "extreme" situations.

Icaldela Apple has recognized that it also has the Antennagate problem like any mobile phone and if they give away the Bumper it is to silence all the false problems that appear in the blogs, Let us remember that Apple has shareholders and if by giving away a piece of plastic they get their shares not to go down and on top of making users happy as they will. The free bumper is a very good marketing strategy and I have to say. But Apple has not acknowledged that they have a design problem.

As for what I have commented on the blogs, I am in favor of anyone being able to give their opinion without having to be an expert on the subject. I myself am on this blog without being a journalist or an engineer (yet), but one thing is to publish things with meaning and another is to publish everything that is read "out there" to get money. If on a website they publish that a user has had a problem, this will spread and a few more examples will appear and then it will become a big problem. This is what has happened and basically it is a gossip of a goalkeeper that has been growing. The problem is the veracity of things, iSpazio had coverage problems, EsferaiPhone did not, I come to the conclusion. that everything depends on the place and the company and not the terminal. I am convinced that my iPhone 3G takes more coverage than my old Nokia or my Motorola V3X but less than the iPhone 4 or the iPad 3G and surely it would take less than a mobile with an external antenna of 5 cm.

With all this I want to say that the iPhone 4 is NOT defective, it is NOT perfect (like any mobile phone) and that I will try everything mentioned when I have a terminal, and until then I will not believe what appears on the internet since they are personal and individual cases. which depends on many factors. To all those who have blind faith in blogs, before the iPad came out they said that it had everything, (even stating that they had had it in their hands) Intel processor, camera, biometric authentication, etc... and then it turned out to be as it is (which I like by the way). You cannot give so much veracity to an article, in the same way that the best way to inform yourself is to be objective, that is, reading various information and opinions to create your own (read a newspaper of one ideology, then another, and, in the end, , know what happens more or less and form your opinion). In ActualidadiPhone We try to be very informed, but sometimes we make mistakes or take a source as truthful that later is not so true.

By repeating something false, you end up believing that it is true. NOT all cell phones. I repeat: NOT all mobiles lose coverage when you grab them. All together now: NOT all mobiles lose coverage when grabbed. If this were the case, the problem of the iphone4 would not be news, nor would we have had a press conference from its CEO (something unpublished), nor would they give away cases, nor ...

What a fanboy you're made. The iPhone has no defects, it only has one point that as you touch it, goodbye to coverage. If that is not a defect, turn off and let's go.

In your previous post it was fairly well explained, it is not the same to lose a little coverage simply by having the mobile in your hands (and this happens in all mobile phones to a greater or lesser extent, although I have to say that very badly by apple for being justified in that way) that losing coverage by putting a finger on a specific point and that like it or not is a design flaw, so yes, the iphone 4 is defective.

Enough of having apple always on the altars. It has good products and that is why it has gotten to where it is today, but when it shits you have to blame it instead of trying to justify it in any way.

I know that the variety of opinions is what enriches this type of forum, but as you yourself point out that does not imply that I am correct and it is that I believe that despite the fact that I again point out that I do not have the problem of the loss of the signal, this is true since it is not an isolated case, and I insist that Apple recognized the problem, since by saying that it was not the only mobile that lost signal when taking it in a certain way if this is not recognizing , So what is it? And if for you it is not a defect to buy a phone and not be able to make calls where you usually make them or that you cut half of them, well, you bought a brave phone, it should be a shame to Apple than any phone that comes as a gift Inside a box of cookies it has a better reception than its very expensive terminal, but hey, we are all going to put a piece of tape so that it does not fail and we continue to say that it is the best mobile of all time and that the Cupertino company believes that it has us bought with a gift and let's hope that the iPhone 5 or whatever it is called does not bring another failure such as a battery or another thing and they give you an external battery so that you can keep it stuck there all the time but it does not matter it is a small defect and it does not matter not It will happen to all of them and it will be like a coin in the air hoping that you do not get a bad one, but how generous we love that they give us gifts to correct small errors and what good marketing right?

For me they should take more drastic measures and not those of Apple but the governments through their institutions to not allow the entry of their terminals until the small big problem that their equipment has is solved and it seems that I exaggerate but «to big problems , great remedies ", how many millions of iPhones 4 have been sold and that" only the lucky ones "have not entered all countries ah ... but I forgot it is not a defect, it is just a small failure.

Hello, I do not see it as a short circuit, it only loses coverage like all the other mobiles, what Apple did was to put 3 external antennas on the phone that is the entire shore, the lines are the ones that separate the antennas, so this is not a short circuit for It would not matter how you grab the phone, it would always be the short, then the iphone only loses coverage like the other mobiles but it would not be necessary for something he did the external antenna but hey are many things, greetings

Do you have one to confirm it? How do you explain the video of the key? Hello, I am a lucky person who has an Iphone 4 bought in France, I have it for a week I am delighted with it. To date I have not had any problem with the coverage, the company with which it works is Simyo. I also bought him a Bumper for all this commotion that has been formed by the antenna gate and I repeat it works wonderfully. The iPhone 4 seems like a terminal pass, before I had a Blackberry Storm and no comparison. I think that the best guarantee that Apple can offer us is the return of our money in case we are not happy with the product. Greetings to all those who still do not have it and you are waiting like crazy, I tell you that it is worth it.

The iPhone has revolutionized telephony, but Apple is equal to or worse than the multinationals in any sector. Buy me what I sell that I already take care of taking the money and running. They never have problems, they never fall short of the user. If the product were from Microsoft we would be shitting ourselves in everything, but Apple enjoys the exclusivity of its ingenuity. That Jobs defends himself by teaching other mobiles is the evil of many consolation of fools. I have two Iphone and I am delighted with them, I do not rule out buying a 4.0 but this attitude that the problem is not ours and that you have to put a cover because the idiots of our customers do not know how to take a phone has exceeded all limits of pride.

  19.   incom2 said

Some, despite having seen how other "competing" phones lose coverage, continue erre-que-erre that the iPhone 4 is defective.

Well, if the iPhone 4 is defective because it loses coverage when you pick it up, then the phones of the »competition» are also defective because the same thing happens to them. Yes or yes.

Or perhaps in some brands these effects are "acceptable" or even ignorable for ordinary mortals and, on the other hand, with Apple being Apple, they become a cause for public catastrophe and penance and derision?

No, one can be a fanboy or a hater or skip the topic, but I refuse to continue listening to people who put two phones from different brands in front of them with the same coverage problem, and they only complain and whine with Apple's. A little common sense, please!

  20.   Pablo said

Like Ion Espinoza I have an iPhone 4 bought in France but without a bumper. And IF you lose coverage but only in my house (where I have never had good coverage from Vodafone, really) and only if I want you to lose it; that is, putting the finger at the junction of the antennas. But, I repeat, ONLY if I want you to lose coverage, you lose it….
Now, on the street you NEVER lose coverage even if you put your finger or take it with your hand holding it very tightly (as seen in some videos)
I've been with him for more than a week and he hasn't hung up on calls or anything at all; also, I have no problems with the proximity sensor….
On the other hand, I have gone from an iPhone 2G to 4 so I imagine that that also helps to make me look like a wonderful terminal ...
    Greetings and good weekend!

It is one thing that competing phones also lose coverage when they are picked up and another very different thing than the iPhone in addition to that, it has a very specific point where by simply putting a finger the coverage plummets.

Now the fanboys can continue saying that if the coverage also drops in other mobiles, that if we do not have one that we shut up and other things in order to defend your company (which by the way, they pay you to defend it like that ??), but no matter how much it hurts, it has been an abstaining fat design flaw because if all this had not happened.

Mundi, I have to say that I totally disagree with what you say, that the iPhone 4 loses coverage like any other phone, and that it is not defective. first of all, my friend has the samsung omina 2, mentioned by apple that it also loses coverage if you take it in such a way, and that ... even grabbing it with the armpit we have not managed to lose a line. and black berry more of the same, apple wanted to make us see what happens to all mobile phones, but it is not like that. In some more than in others, but in the iPhone 4 it is exaggerated, and to solve it with a cover, having spent 100 kilos in technological rooms for coverage, it is curious, if they have had to do a conference for something it will be, and if they give away covers tb , and is that many buyers have suffered from the problem of coverage, and that is why it could be said that it comes with a defect. It is like a car, which starts you sometimes if not others, and the brand would say, it also happens to other brands. but that is no excuse.

I will not go into the discussion much because you are convinced of what you write and it does not seem that you want to attend to other approaches, that if two things:

    - It is not very normal for you to label people as ignorant and say that their comments are not valid because they are not engineers. I remind you that you are NOT an engineer and if you become an engineer you will not be a telecommunications engineer. I am and I am not dedicated to giving lessons, although if I can assure you something, the Iphone 4 has a design flaw. For me serious, but that is up to each one.

    - Second and basic, you give master classes and you DO NOT have an Iphone 4 !!!!. I don't understand, really, all you can say is pure theory. I'm writing this to you with an Iphone 4 and because of the account it brings me, I have to be careful where I put my hands.

    - And I finish, Jobs and you can digress what you want about the other terminals, the fact is that in the same place with an HD2, a 3GS and a 4 the only one that loses coverage is the 4 and loses it entirely.

I'm as much an Apple fan as anyone, but this is not a religion and when they screw it up you can say without being worthy of being burned at the stake.

It begins to amuse me to meet people who say, »noooo, with my Nokia / Motorola / HTC / ??? the signal does not happen to me, nor do I cover it with both hands! " and then continue "but it is terribleeeee that the iPhone put your finger there and lose it all." Of course, there it is shown that Apple lies, cheats, and tries to put a defective product on the market only so that ITS buyers (because those of Nokia or HTC or Motorola are not going to be) feel RISKED and go to OTHER companies. What a piece of business acumen, Mr. Jobs! We are going to scam OUR clients into NOTICE! Anyway, very funny to see the straw in someone else's eye and not see the beam in your own.

What's more, if you insist on short-circuiting, the battery explodes and releases toxic gases. And if the iPhone 4 is selling so well it is not because people DON'T PASS, it is because they are terrorists or masochists or even both at the same time. … Please, let's stick to the facts: the iPhone 4 has a design error, but it is not much more problematic than what happens with the other phones or else the queues would be to return it and not to buy it!

The little theme is already annoying, whoever wants the iPhone to buy it, like me, whoever doesn't want it, doesn't buy it, whoever doesn't like it, returns it and everyone is happy =)

Andrés: You are more right than a saint, the subject is tiring and boring and it is very clear that it has been oversized due to economic and advertising issues. Economic because Apple entered the telephony market through the back door and has passed its hand over the face of all the big companies selling only * 4 * phone models (2G, 3G, 3GS and now the 4). And advertising because, being Apple the star brand of MP3s, and now of telephones, the media knows that everything that says "Apple" is going to be seen, heard, read and sold. That is why there has been a stumbling block on the part of Apple, the media and companies have thrown themselves on top of it, magnifying the problem over and over again. Now it turns out that Apple, to defend itself against attacks from all bands, has compared its iPhone with an HTC, with a Motorola and with a BlackBerry ... and it turns out that all three have a similar problem. Should someone's face drop with shame? Yes, to those who threw themselves into the jugular of Apple, to those who made campaigns like "we don't tell you how to take your phone", to those who tried to strain a minimal design problem such as the great gaffe that was going to take to Apple little short of bankruptcy. And how are things? Well, some iPhones lose coverage more for the area in which they are than for putting your finger in the joint of the antennas, and that almost the same thing happens to the competition models despite having the internal antenna. So, are we all fooling ourselves? Just Apple? Do they laugh at us and manipulate us into buying their products? Everyone draws their conclusions, what I have very clear is that who started attacking the others was not Apple, but other companies when they learned that some Apple customers had had a problem.

Next season (3Gs came out) it is not the same anymore (same design) it has been reinforced but not enough (better processor, better ram, better …… but the same OS), the others have been reinforced better with CR, Kaka, … .. (Droid, Symbian, windows mobile… allow me a LOLazo)
Chigry (Antena), Ibra (Design) Guardiola (Jobs) bets have been a failure, But still you can afford it, League Champions (3 Million Iphone 4 sold)

I do not have an iPhone 4 but on the 30th you will see me on Gran Vía going for one, if I decide to continue with Movistar (I will know when the prices of the operators come out). (Step by step to ask if Vodafone or Orange have flagship stores like Movistar's Gran Vía, where the first iPhones arrive)

As much as I read websites and forums, in Spanish, English or French, the only clear thing that comes out is that to want to lose coverage and have the call cut off, you have to want to do it on purpose, if you make normal use of the phone you speak no problem, take it as you take it. Only if you live in an area with weak coverage can it be a problem.

And what Apple has told in the conference on Friday is a half truth: all or almost all phones when you cover the antenna lose coverage like the iPhone4. But the iPhone 4 has an added problem, it is not that the antenna is covered and something goes down, it is that the bridging that occurs between the 3G and Wifi / bluetooth antennas is added to that. The latter does not happen with the others and it is what I did not like about the comparison they did on Friday.

That is a weak point of the phone I agree. But it should only be of concern to people who live in areas with VERY poor coverage ...

And the most important and decisive thing for me is that no one complains that he cannot speak, nor does anyone return it.

So it's mostly this is smear campaign against Apple. These campaigns are not mounted on any other phone model, and it will not be because they have no bugs, and they are fat.

Sure. You are not a telecommunications engineer. If not, you would be unemployed.

If you allow me, I will explain to you above how the antennas work. All electromagnetic waves are modulated to a frequency and therefore a wavelength. The antennas are designed to have a width and a length proportional to a multiple of that wavelength. In this way, the wave resonates in this material and does not lose its properties.
If two antennas of different lengths are "shorted" or bridged, the signal will not resonate; and if it happens that both lengths add up to a multiple and a half of the wavelength, the electromagnetic field will be completely nullified and nothing will have to be done.

If that is the case (I don't know that anymore) then it is normal that calls cannot be made and received. It will be as if there is no coverage. That bridge may well be a finger. The human being is composed of water and salts, that this combination is highly conductive.

In conclusion, a finger can make a bridge and vary the effective length of the antenna and, therefore, the wave stops resonating, is noticeably attenuated and it is not possible to process it.

There are many people who think that by defending the iPhone 4, you are automatically denying any design problems or errors. IT IS NOT LIKE THIS. There is a design error that allows a person to touch the junction point between the two antennas with their fingers, achieving a more marked attenuation in some cases. AND THERE IS THE QUID of the matter: that in very few cases, no matter how hard it is played, the signal is attenuated to the point of losing it. If it was so easy to lose coverage as scientific theory indicates, then there would be 3.000.000 returns, and there aren't. And since we are talking about scientific theory, I have a doubt: if the WiFi antenna occupies a certain area on the side of the phone, and the GSM antenna occupies the rest, shouldn't it be very easy to touch both antennas at the same time, not with one finger? but with the hand? I do not understand why it is so vital to put your finger on the separation of the antennas, and instead nobody has said anything about touching the two antennas at the same time with the hand, something much more probable and even common. In that case it does not affect the conductivity of the human body? Thanks and best regards.

What a shame to post. This website is losing all its credibility with your latest comments. It seems that defending the beach bar from a usurer is more concerned than defending consumers deceived by a defective product that has cost them an arm and a leg of that hard-earned money ... which are also your readers.

And if, defective, like everything that works incorrectly, that is, a mobile that cuts calls when I shouldn't need you to pick it up in a certain way or put a cover on it so that it works properly. So take people for a fool, the phone is defective, thousands of users say it, consumer reports says it, I say it and above all your master Steve Jobs says it, because if not, he is going to give you one cover worth 30 pains.

I already suppose that this page is a business and it is not advisable to put the product very badly without which it would not exist, but by deceiving or trying to deceive people the only thing you get is to lose all your credibility in the face of the only thing that should matter to you ... your readers.

    A disappointed hello

Yes man yes, Tiamath. You are absolutely right in the world, there are 3.000.000 people out there who have bought a very expensive phone that they are using right now as a paperweight because an iPhone will always be cool. Go and go buy a Nokia, an HTC or even a Microsoft Kin that now must be very well priced, and enjoy them because you are worth it, we are not going to criticize you or mess with what you have bought. Bye bye!

Incom2 I find your attitude as regrettable as that of the others, I am the first one who wants to buy an iPhone 4 but I am one of those who is going to wait until I am sure that the model that arrives in Spain does not have the problem of Antenna because if I put a cover on my phone it is because I feel like it and not because without it it doesn't work well. And stop messing with Nokia, HTC, Blackberry and the mother who gave birth to all that the problem is the Iphone 4 that here people do not stop throwing stones at another roof in order to defend Apple. Gentlemen that Apple is not a hermantia of charity is a company that only wants to make money.

Regrettable? We'll see. All I have done is question the seriousness of the problem. It is clear and drawer that if THREE million units have been sold, if the problem were as serious as they say, there would have been massive returns. And since there haven't been, either these three million phones are working as expected, or there are three million people who have inexplicably decided to put an expensive paperweight on their desk. Is this attitude regrettable? Question what some say and what reality is showing based on numbers and proven facts? In addition, I have never said that there is no problem with the antenna, but that the problem is not as serious as some try to make it seem; and I refer back to the THREE million iPhone 4s scattered around the world that have not been returned. And finally, I have never told anyone to buy an iPhone, nor have I criticized or denigrated the products of the competition: the campaigns against the iPhone by these companies have been and are increasingly aggressive and, in my opinion, dirty; even Mcrosoft has had the audacity to compare iOS 4 with Windows Vista, having abandoned their Kin phone as they have done less than four months after it was released. And no, Apple is not a charity company, they are going to make money and that is why I find it ridiculous that, basing much of their profits on the image they have, they have knowingly removed a faulty and unusable phone.

In my humble opinion I think it is a lot of fault of the operator, check this video of the test carried out on Telcel's iPhone 4

It already tires so much comment about that supposed loss of coverage, like some of this forum I have a free iPhone 4 Applestore Fr, today I have done a test and I have been covering the iPhone for two minutes of clock and only lost a network line , maybe I got it wrong !! Please those who do not want it and are criticizing it, I only tell them not to think about buying it, which may not be a phone for them.

Mundi, don't be offended, but if Steve told you to jump out of a window, you'd jump ...

In my opinion, the iPhone may not be "defective" but it is clear that it is a product with a manifest design flaw (which in my opinion is even worse), and trying to minimize it by discrediting the competition seems to me, at best, shameful. .
I mean, I'm bad, but we all are… What an image of innovation, and all this assuming (which I doubt) that your presentation is objective and not misrepresented.

And well, your claim that the fault of the iPhone not working is largely the operators ... son, that's to frame it. You say that because you really mean it?
It reminds me of the flash ... my phone is great and will work as a clock in 10 years, when the operators are updated ... hehehe this is even comical now ...

And yes, I am critical by nature. I am in my right and I do not like to be teased or taken for a fool.

Hello greetings to all, I would like to start by quoting this:
«First I want to clarify that the iPhone 4 is NOT faulty. It has no defects, it loses coverage like any mobile phone, but it does not have a defect. According to some readers, the short circuit does not occur or anything, the only problem with the 4 is that it loses the same coverage as all mobile phones. "

and then I continue with one of the definitions for defect:
"Defect: A characteristic not in accordance with the requirements of the specification and may adversely affect the quality of the product or service"

Now answer me if the antenna is short-circuited or lands or loses coverage when holding it as we usually hold it .. IS IT NOT JUST A DEFECT THAT THE TELEPHONE REACTS LIKE THIS?

because heck "all cell phones lose coverage" ok but ... then: "how will there always be someone more idiotic than me then should I feel better? »

I also like the iPhone 4 and I think about buying it but in advance I know that IT HAS 2 HUGE DEFECTS THAT BEFORE I DIDN'T HAVE

    1.- the antenna
2.- it is very fragile before falls

and bah! let's put aside the nonsense that "it is not to be throwing it away" because we all know and get used to the fact that if the iPhone fell from 2g to 3gs nothing happened to the crystals !!!

I invite you to read the default definitions http://www.google.com/search?client=ubuntu&channel=fs&q=define%3A+defecto&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

I am also an engineer and I do not understand why in the quality control tests they did not notice this on the iphone !!, It also weighs me that they do not want to accept their error because that would make that company bigger (as Toyota did)

Considering that I have already expressed my congratulations to Apple for standing up in these situations that have been created ... I am going to leave some opinions about all this. By the way, simply for information, I have an iPhone 4 for two weeks, using it daily and I have carried out all the tests on coverage that I can manually do with the iPhone 4, I have even compared it with the previous 3GS, using cards of the same operator. Well, my conclusions are as follows:

    - It is easier to lower the coverage on the iPhone 4 than on the 3GS, both by covering the lower back and side of the iPhone, and by placing your finger joining the two antennas (3G and WIFI).
    - iPhone 4 has more sensitivity than 3GS in low coverage areas. I have checked in several places where I never had coverage with the 3GS and the 4 has coverage, comparing with the same version of the firm, and with the same operator. The 4 better captures the signal in areas with low reception power. Try when you can, in those places where we all spend some time a day and we know that there is no coverage, in my case, in several places (garages, parking lots, elevators, storage rooms), the 4 maintained the coverage without problems, when the 3GS was was out of service. This I think is hardware.
    - I get the feeling that the loss of coverage of the 4 is more significant with the 3G network than with the GPRS network, it is as if the 3G network were less stable, and with the "short-circuit" with the fingers of the two antennas of the 4 , 3G coverage drops more than GPRS.
    - Personally, I have never used a case with the different iPhones, and with the 4 I am not going to use it either, I like the aesthetics that it has as is. This antenna issue, in no case is a problem for my use of the mobile, which requires a cover ...
    - Anyway, Apple should avoid these situations and problems, since I think they already knew something about the antenna issue, which causes high image damage for potential future customers. We must not forget that many opinions expressed in a large part of the forums are not based on own experiences, but on opinions about videos, comments, etc. that are read on the net.

My opinion is that the 4 is a pass, and that although, with the intention of losing some coverage lines you can put your hand in a certain position for several seconds (which is even tiring), in my case, it has not supposed no problem in daily use, even improving the feeling of having coverage in places where I used to be safe without it.

Mundi, you don't have to defend apple, they have the best lawyers xD you're late.

The only good thing about all this is the TREMENDOUS free publicity that Apple is getting. I do not know if someone who continues to criticize the antenna issue, has realized that by now the bulk of the population knows that the other large companies lose coverage almost the same as the iPhone 4, and that they have also been sold THREE million units and hardly any returns. Everyone draws their conclusions as they please, but the most logical is that the phone works well despite having a design problem, and that the competition has been primed like hyenas trying to discredit Apple. And it is that I remind you all that the one who started insulting was the competition and their fanboys, and that Apple in its press conference limited itself to comparing between several terminals without insulting or belittling any of them, it simply revealed a truism: the phones did. the antenna is screened, they lose coverage.
