Apple has surreptitiously removed the original iPad mini from the online Apple Store and it is no longer mentioned on their website. The iPad mini, which we must remember that it arrived without a retina screen and with an A5 processor, will be three years old next October and is a 7.9-inch version of the normal-size iPad. The surprising thing is that it lasted so long, since we could say that it was an iPad 2 with a smaller screen, which gave it a little more power but was far from the performance of the iPad mini retina that already has an A7 processor.
In October 2013, Apple lowered the price of the iPad mini to € 299 and, the following year, it lowered its price again to € 249, but It did not have many sales because the iPad mini 2, which we remember has a retina screen and the 64-bit processor A7, has a price in its basic model of € 289. Logically, it is better to spend € 40 more and have all the news of the second model, which perfectly moves iOS 8 and will do the same with iOS 9.
The original iPad mini will still be available in the section of refurbished devices (reburfished) of the Apple Store online with prices ranging between € 199 and € 389 depending on the model and desired capacity and in some authorized third-party stores, such as , Amazon, but they will no longer be available when they run out of stock.
With this move, Apple only makes available the iPads with a retina display and a 64-bit processor, which are the iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 2, which are expected to be joined by at least one 12.9-inch iPad possibly called iPad Pro.
