Overcast is updated by adding a new dark theme among other novelties

The Overcast application has become one of the best alternatives to the official app podcast from Apple. Although it is true that it is not the only one, it is one of the few that with each new update offers us new functions, new functions that are added to the large number of customization options that it offers us.

A few days ago, Marco Arment, updated the application adapting it to the new interface of the iPhone X but as stated in the notes of that update, it would not be the only news that would bring us in future updates. No sooner said than done. This latest update adds a new black theme, in addition to the two already available: white and gray.

The idea of adding a new black theme It is not random, since OLED screens only illuminate the pixels that show some, saving battery and reducing the wear and tear that it can suffer throughout its life. With the black theme, the background of the screen is shown in a perfect black and where only the letters and images of the application relate.

But another important novelty also brings us a novelty related to the typography of the application, so that we can use iOS 11 font in the application instead of the one that the App has offered us practically since its launch on the market.

Other novelties of this application are found in the counter that we can set in the App so that a podcast stops playing, ideal for those who go to sleep listening to a podcast. This new option allows us stop playback when the corresponding episode ends, preventing the rest of the podcast from the same channel from being played.

Overcast is available for download for free through the following link. Within the application, we can collaborate with the project by making a donation that will prevent advertising from appearing, an advertising that hardly annoys since it is only displayed at the bottom of the screen.
