Yesterday a new package appeared in Cydia: p0sixspwn. Intended for users of older devices such as the iPhone 3GS and 4 or the iPod Touch 4G to convert Jailbreak Tethered to Untethered just by installing that package from Cydia, without having to repeat the Jailbreak or anything like that. After an afternoon full of updates, it seems that has finally reached a stable version, and that it does not cause problems in any compatible device. The latest version, 1.2-1, is now available on Cydia for download.
And it is that shortly after p0sixspwn was launched, users were complaining about problems on their devices. Specific the iPhone 4 GSM model, which was blocked with the apple logo, without being able to use your device. If that's the case for you and you can't get the device to restart normally after pressing the home and power buttons for 10 seconds, try this alternative method that starts your device in safe mode:
- Press and hold the home and power buttons for 10 seconds
- When the apple appears on the screen, press and hold the volume up button until the lock screen of your device appears
Once this is done, your iPhone will be in «Failsafe mode«, Being able to access Cydia and uninstall the application that caused the failure, or, in this case, update the p0sixspwn application so that your iPhone can function normally again.
The rest of users with iOS 6 still installed on their iPhones and iPads will have to wait for the Jailbreak to be released for those devices and that version. It is expected that this new Jailbreak is available this very Christmas, so the wait is about to end. Jailbreak iOS 6 or iOS 7? Fortunately, some have a choice. What is your option?
