Pebble 2.0 now available with its own Appstore and new features

The wait has been long but it has been worth it. Pebble 2.0 is now available to download from the App Store, and is accompanied by its own Appstore, a completely renewed design, more control options for your smartwatch from the iPhone application itself, and a new firmware for the smartwatch that multiplies your benefits and makes you smarter, with options that until now were only available through the Jailbreak, and that we can now enjoy without the need for tweaks or third-party applications. We give you all the details below.

New application for iOS

The application has completely changed, and it shows from the first moment. The Pebble setup process is completely different, and it is done from the application itself, without having to leave it to go to the Settings to configure notifications or anything like that. The application does it all and you only need to follow the steps that it indicates.

Once the configuration is finished, you will be able to access the application itself, with a menu that is displayed from the left and in which we can distinguish 3 sections:

• My Pebble, where you can access the applications and watchfaces installed on your Pebble
• Get Watchfaces, where all the themes for the Pebble watch are gathered, organized in different categories to make them easier to find
• Get Apps, where you can find applications that give extra functions to the watch, such as pedometers, weather applications, GPS, etc.

The My Pebble section has all the watchfaces and applications that you have added. At the top (active) are the ones you actually have stored on your Pebble, with a maximum of 8, given the limited space of the smartwatch. At the bottom we find the «Locker», a drawer in which are those songs that we have added but are not stored in the Pebble. Moving an element from one space to another is easyYou just have to click on the element and click on "Unload" (to pass it to the Locker) or "Load" (to pass it to the active space).

The elements located in the active space can be managed from the Pebble itself, by pressing the buttons on the right side, upper and lower, to alternate between them. An important new feature of Pebble 2.0 is that smartwatches they have a configuration panel (the majority) from which we can configure certain aspects, such as the units of measurement, the language or the colors of the clock. As you can see, the new watchfaces include elements such as information about the device's battery, the time, or if there is a Bluetooth connection with the iPhone. Some have options to vibrate every hour or when the connection is lost.

But not only the watchfaces or clock themes have been organized, the applications have also been organized, with a space in which they all meet, with information about their characteristics, screenshots and information on whether they need any external application (from the App Store) to function, and in that case, it also offers a direct link to it. ¿What is the difference between applications and watchfaces? We can say that everything that is not a clock is an application, although this is not true in all cases, since there are applications that also incorporate clocks among their functions, such as Smartwatch +.

Pedomoters that measure our activity using the Pebble sensors, or weather applications that offer us detailed information on the weather conditions of our location, as well as a 5-day forecast are just some examples of what is available in the Pebble App Store , and what remains to come is even more promising.
