The most or least, surely you have ever heard of Oculus Rift, glasses that bring us virtual reality technology for multiple sectors, not just entertainment. Pinć is the name of some virtual reality glasses that use the iPhone 6 as a basis for its operation and thus achieve lower costs by taking advantage of the technology that has already been implemented by Apple itself in its terminal.
Starting from this premise, Pinć goes a step further and wants us not only to be mere spectators but also to be able to interact with space virtual we are seeing. To do this, we have to place two rings, one on each hand so that we can perform multi-touch gestures and interact with the environment as if we were embodying the role of Tom Cruise in the Minority Report movie.
¿What hardware parts will Pinć use from the iPhone 6? As you can imagine, the first one is the terminal screen that will act as a monitor. The second key piece is the M8 coprocessor that will be in charge of registering the movements that we make with the head. Finally, to recognize the movement of our hands, Pinć will take advantage of the rear camera of the iPhone 6.
From here, the software will be in charge of take advantage of all the hardware of the Apple mobile and thus give us a feeling of virtual reality like we have never experienced. There will also be an SDK available based on the Unity graphics engine for anyone who wants to develop applications or games for Pinć.
If you liked the idea and want to get a Pinć unit, its price is U.S. dollar 99 and you can already reserve it in your Indiegogo campaign, a platform similar to Kickstarter. Once they reach the 100.000 dollars they ask for, they will begin production of the final version of the product that reaches the homes of the first customers by June 2015.
