Durante el día de ayer, mi compañero Luis os informó sobre los nuevos juegos y aplicaciones que llegaron a la App Store durante la semana a través de la sección: Novedades de la Semana. Hoy vamos a analizar las mejores actualizaciones (de las que hemos hablado en el blog) que hayan surgido a lo largo de la semana. Para aquellos que no conozcáis esta sección, solo hay que deciros que el objetivo es descubrir aplicaciones y sus nuevas versiones. Sin más dilación, esta semana hablaremos de las actualizaciones de: plex, a multimedia manager that can be very complete; Angry Birds Season, the special holiday game created by Rovio; and finally, another Rovio game whose first part was incredible: Angry Birds Star Wars II.
plex
As I said in its day, Plex is a multimedia service that anyone can download with which we will have all our multimedia content in a single application through a server that we can create ourselves. And these are the improvements that its new update brings:
- Icon improvement: As you can see, the Plex icon has been changed a bit by adding a blue touch in the corners of the icon. I like this new logo better as it attracts more attention than the previous one.
- New design for iOS 7: There was also a redesign of the home screen and user interface in the Plex update. As confirmed in the official blog of this service, the design has been modified to be simpler and more visual as well as being more focused on iOS 7.
- URL detection: In version 3.3 of Plex, a new function has been incorporated with which the application will automatically detect the URLs copied to the clipboard.
- New video player: This was one of the things that users demanded the most, a deep redesign to the video player. From now on, at the top we will find the video progress bar while below we will have the playback settings, a thumbnail of what we are seeing and other options related to playback.

Angry Birds Season
This is a game developed by Rovio whose objective is to kill the pigs but in totally different levels with scenarios set in a time of year: Christmas, summer, winter ... And this is the winter update:
- Arctic Eggspedition: It is the new adventure of Angry Birds Season. We have 25 new levels in relation to winter, cold, snow…. In addition to these normal levels, we have 4 bonus levels with which we can get more scores.
- Advent Calendar: There are 25 levels for these 25 days until Christmas (well thought out…) so, if one level per day is not enough, you can use those 4 additional bonus levels.
- Scenarios: With this new world called Artic Eggspedition, we will have totally different scenarios with very cold temperatures, huge blocks of ice and frozen pigs ... Do you dare?
- Submarine attacks: Throw the birds through the water to attack the pigs on the surface.
Angry Birds Star Wars II
And as I told you, today we were going to talk a lot about Angry Birds. The first part of Angry Birds Star Wars had quite an incredible success as it was in the Top 25 for a few weeks. During the week, it has been updated and these are the improvements that its update brought:
- 20 levels with the "pigs": 20 new levels are added in which pigs are the protagonists of the story. We will have to attack against the capital of Naboo and fight against the big boss to finish him off.
- 20 levels with the "birds": In the same way, the birds will be the center of these new 20 levels. We will fight in razed fields of Naboo and then ascend into space to end the war.
- Secret levels: New hidden maps have been added to unlock 4 new levels with which to obtain a higher score
- 3 new characters: And finally, in this update of Angry Birds Star Wars II 3 new characters have been added totally free: Padmé, Captain Panaka and Zam Wesell.
