Pokémon GO became, on its own merits, one of the most successful games in the mobile device ecosystem a few years ago. As time has passed, and as expected, the hype has dropped a lot, although currently it is still used by many millions of users on a daily basis.
Niantic, the developer of this application, released a version for the Apple Watch in December 2016. Through the application it was possible record our physical activity looking for Pokémon but little more since it was nothing more than an extension of the application available on our iPhone. This application will no longer be available from July 1.
Not everyone has a smartwatch, however many are the users who use their own smartphones to monitor their sports activity. To offer a bonus to users, last November it added the Adventure Sync feature, a feature that is responsible for recording user activity, an activity that is automatically recorded in both the Apple Health application and Google Fit, an application that has also been available in the App Store for a few months.
According to the developer, through Adventure Sync, trainers have the option of recording their steps directly in the application without having to use two apps independently, so that we are not forced to use two different applications to see the physical activity we have done while we were out hunting Pokémon.
The next game I could go back to revolutionizing virtual reality in the mobile ecosystem may be Minecraft Earth, an application for mobile devices that will allow us to see and build in our environment as we do so far through the game on all platforms on which it is available.
