Precautions you must take to avoid losing the jailbreak

Danger-Cydia

Apple released iOS 7.1 yesterday and within minutes it had already closed the possibility of updating or restoring to iOS 7.0.6. Although there are many of you who are telling us about the benefits of Apple's new mobile operating system, its performance improvements and it seems that even its longer battery life, there are many others who do not want to update because the immediate consequence is that the Jailbreak is lost, and most likely there won't be another jailbreak available until iOS 8 is released. For all this, if you haven't updated to iOS 7.1, and you don't want to because you want to keep your Jailbreak, I recommend that you follow these tips so that you do not have to update to the new version forcibly due to a failure in your device.

Don't install Cydia tweaks out of control

Before installing any Cydia tweak, find out what it does, and if you are really interested, make sure that it is compatible with your device and that it does not have any incompatibility with any other tweak that you have installed. This means that run away from tweaks in beta phase (like IntelliScreenX, for example), and install only those that are already more than tested and known to work properly.

Use "Safe" mode

Safe Mode

If you install any Cydia tweak or application and your iPhone keeps crashing or restarting, don't rush to restore through iTunes. Since a time ago there is the option to reboot in "Safe" mode, similar to what happens with Windows. This mode only loads the essentials, so that the vast majority of Cydia tweaks are disabled, and you can access Cydia and uninstall those that you think are causing the failure.

Using safe mode is very easy: restart the device by pressing the power button and the home button at the same time, and hold them for a few seconds until the apple appears on the screen. At that point, release those buttons and press the volume up button, and keep it pressed until your iPhone or iPad has fully rebooted. You'll see the original springboard appear, with no lock screen tweaks or anything from Cydia (or almost nothing). Then enter Cydia and access "Manage> Packages" and uninstall everything you think is causing the problem.

SemiRestore can be your last resort

SemiRestore is an application for Windows, Mac and Linux that allows you to leave your iPhone and iPad with Jailbreak done almost recently restored but without having lost the Jailbreak. It is the last resort when the rest of the options have not worked for you. The application has just been updated to be compatible with iOS 7, but at the moment it is only compatible with Windows, although it is expected that the versions for Mac and Linux will be ready soon.

Its use is quite simple and can be downloaded for free from the official website. Like I said before, my advice is only use it when there is no other possible resource, because it is still a delicate procedure and it is possible that the procedure fails and forces you to restore officially.

Is there any way to do the «failsafe» when the button does not work for me (power I think it is called), the one that appears in the image above?

Safe mode is while turning on the iPhone, iPad… Whatever it is, hold down the volume up button, and don't release it until it turns on.

You just saved my life by starting failsafe, I was completely unaware of it and just today I had installed a tweak that had left my mobile OFF. Thanks!!

If you have the bad power you can install a tweak to turn off the phone and you can turn it on by connecting it to its load once turned on press only the volume + until it turns on and it should turn on in safe mode greetings

I support the jailbreak, I had it in 7.0.4, but I am already in 7.1 with my 4S, recommended, more stable, fluid and apparently improves the battery. the truth is that the jailbreak on my iPhone is less and less missed.

There is also iLEX RAT and it is very similar to SemiRestore, only this is a Cydia tweak and it came out before the aforementioned program, there are tutorials on this tweak that works with the Terminal and has 12 options and is very practical and more convenient.

I don't take off my JB or get fed up with wine. IOS 7.0.4 + Jailbreak until the next IOS 8 (if it is worth it of course)

Could someone show me how to solve a call reception problem on my 4s? The symptom is: When someone calls me, in the first attempt it sounds busy and the phone does not ring, only the second attempt does the call enter correctly, Thank you for your help.

Yesterday I did a semi-restore on an iPhone 4 with iOS 7.0.6 using iLex Rat that is also updated for iOS 7, I had never used it but it cannot be easier since no computer is needed, only the tweak is installed for it that you have to add the repo http://cydia.myrepospace.com/iLEXiNFO and you also have to install MobileTerminal once this is done, MobileTerminal is executed and on the screen that appears we write «rat» then we choose option 12 and we give it «y», the program warns us that it takes a few minutes but it is not more than five as I remember and that's it.

I have a concern, yesterday I bought a 5GB iPhone 16S that came with iOS 7.0.4, I took a deep breath after knowing this because I could still jailbreak it, which was the first thing I did before using it for anything, but when connecting it to the pc in iTunes I get that there is an update available but instead of mentioning the 7.1 he tells me about the 7.0.6 I am very afraid that it is a booby trapper to end up making the jump to 7.1 and that is why I did not do the update since I had previously read by here that a while ago Apple was not signing the 7.0.6. Does anyone know exactly how this works?

    Hello
I have an iphone 4 with 7.0.6, and when I try to jailbreak with evasion, at the first stop in which the evasion requests that I unlock the phone, I do it but the 'jailbreak' tab is not activated to continue with the program. I have turned off the movement, restarted everything and nothing, it stops there. Please, any help? As you mention, it may be that I have 7.1, although in 'information' the 7.0.6 system comes out and that is why it does not go?
    Thank you.
