The program I use for this is lyrics napper You will open it together with iTunes and as the songs are heard if it finds the letter it will show it and you can make it join the song at the end of each song or automatically put it by clicking Update lyrics to itunes.
I personally use a yahoo widget called iTune Companion. It looks for only the lyrics and shows you at all times the cover of the album you are listening to at that moment. It also allows you to manually add covers to itunes without the need for an account.

The difference of the widget with the soundcrank is that it is not necessary to register at any time and it adds a visual touch (the cover) to the desktop, although it can be removed.
