Luckily, in a few days we will have a Jailbreak for iOS 6 and all supported devices except Apple TV 3. Many of us already have experience with the Jailbreak and Cydia, but many others will be the first time they do it, either because it is the first time they have an Apple device or because they have not been encouraged to do it before. The point is that There may be many doubts about the Jailbreak process and how Cydia works, doubts that we will try to resolve in this article.
What is the Jailbreak?
Jailbreak is a procedure with which Cydia is installed on our device. What is Cydia? It is an application store other than the App Store. Apple does not allow to install applications that are not in the App Store, the Jailbreak breaks this restriction and with Cydia we can install unofficial applications. These Cydia applications are not in the App Store because they do not meet Apple's strict requirements, since they modify aspects that Apple does not allow under any circumstances. Adding a widget to the springboard, allowing bluetooth file transfers, or making your iPad's default browser Chrome instead of Safari are things that can only be done with Cydia apps.
How is the Jailbreak done?
The Jailbreak for iOS 6.1 will be of the "userland" type. This type of Jailbreak has the advantage that it is easy for the user to perform, but it is easily corrected with a new iOS update from Apple. Although we do not know any details about the application with which Cydia can be installed on our device, it will almost certainly be a very simple procedure, probably pressing a button and little else. Anyway, you will have a detailed tutorial of the whole procedure on the blog as soon as it is available.
Do I lose the warranty with the jailbreak?
In Apple's conditions it is clear that it is, since the firmware of the device is modified, something that Apple does not allow. But do not worry, because it is a totally reversible process, so you can get your device back without Jailbreak simply by connecting it to iTunes and hitting the "Restore" button.
Is the performance of my device affected by the Jailbreak?
Certainly yes. iOS is very stable, and bases this stability on the fact that it is a very closed system that does not allow applications to access some functions. This disappears with Cydia, the system opens and the applications have full access. But if you are careful and only install what you are going to use, and applications that are of quality, you will hardly notice that performance is affected. The best thing is always to inform yourself about what the application does and possible bugs it may have, and thus know if it is worth installing or waiting for it to be perfected.
Does the battery drain on my device increase with the Jailbreak?
The jailbreak itself does not increase battery drain. But there are applications that do. Applications like Winterboard, Barrel, Dreamboard ... considerably increase battery consumption. As in the previous point, it is best to be well informed before installing something that you do not know, and decide if it is worth it or not.
Are Cydia apps free?
There are many applications that are free, and many others that are not. In general, the highest quality applications are paid: iFile, IntelliscreenX, PKGBackup ... but there are many others that are exceptional and free, such as the well-known SBSettings. The fact that an application is paid does not guarantee that it is good, you can get a bad surprise, so before paying for an application, inform yourself well.
The million dollar question: Do I jailbreak or not?
That cannot be answered by anyone except yourself. I am personally a Jailbreak advocate, and my devices always have it (when available). But there are many opinions against and with totally respectable reasons. If after reading this you still have doubts, my advice is to try it, and if you don't like it, you can always restore and stay as you were.
As you can see, there is a common point in almost all the questions: find out before doing something you don't know. It is the best advice I can give you. And of course, there is no better place to find out than this.
More information - The Jailbreak will support all devices with iOS 6.1 except Apple TV 3
Hello, the installous disappeared completely or is it known that something similar will exist ???
Yes, it disappeared, and I'm glad.
Is there something similar? Yes, but I won't name it.
Now I ask ...
Does it cost so much to pay 89 cents when a device has cost you € 600? : /
And if the device cost me nothing, and the applications I want cost more than 40 euros, what?
And if .. Does it go with you or with Javi G? ._. !!!
At Actualidad iPad we neither support nor talk about app hacking, thank you. 😉

Well, do not name it .. we are not so stupid as not to find a free app on the internet ... well, people who are smart!
Search 😉
What else can you ask a child ...
I was just wondering out of curiosity, I have all Apple devices without jailbreak. I don't mind paying if what they offer is good, but sometimes you get stupid and put it for more than 89 cents. Have I answered your question?
Also, do you have them without jailbreak, but do you know that it is installous, that it has disappeared, and above all, you ask if there are alternatives? ._.!
vshare or appcake
Thank you
Updating is the same as restoring help
It is not the same, when you restore, you erase the information on your device and you can restore a previous backup (backup) of your device made in iCloud or your PC or you can restore it from scratch as it was delivered from the factory. By updating instead you do not lose anything, you simply update your operating system, but you keep everything else (regarding your data and applications). If you want to update to later use Jailbreak remember to do it via iTunes.
I defend the jailbreak to the death, it is not worth an idevice if it does not have jalibreak, I would like to be able to thank the hckers personally!
