In the App Store there are many applications that claim to be radar detectors but that is a lie. Actually They act as a warning of the presence of radars since the iPhone does not have any type of hardware to detect these devices that the DGT has installed on Spanish roads.
What the radar warning device does is offer a database with the locations of the fixed radars and, in addition, locations and possible locations are included in which the presence of a mobile radar is possible. Thanks to the GPS receiver that the iPhone incorporates, the application is capable of detecting our proximity to a conflictive point and emits a warning signal so that we avoid exceeding the appropriate speed of the road we are driving on.
Radar Zapper is an application developed by the Spanish studio Atom Studios who has already proven to have experience in this field. Thanks to this, we can have a database on our iPhone containing radars from many European countries, including Spain and Portugal.
Among the range of radars covered by Radar Zapper we can find the fixed, mobile, tunnel, section and those located in black spots, dangerous curves and conflict zones in which there are usually frequent controls.
To notify us of our arrival in the vicinity of a radar, Radar Zapper issues alerts in real time which include the distance to the radar, its location and the maximum allowed speed at which we can circulate. The alerts are issued by voice and they indicate the speed at which we can circulate and the type of radar we are approaching.
Radar Zapper is an application that can work in full screen (including a night mode) but it is also capable of working in background and issues notices through the notification system. To save battery, the application will detect when we stop the car for a while and that will deactivate it completely.
One thing I really like about this app is that at all times we can see the real speed at which we are circulating and silently warns us if we exceed the limit of the road.
Although the best thing to do is never exceed the speed limits for our safety and that of the rest of the drivers, it may be that a mistake or the tax collection effort of the DGT gives us the odd displeasure. With an application like Radar Zapper we will avoid it to a great extent.

I sincerely believe that this app has many things to improve and others to correct. After downloading and testing it, I definitely have to say that I personally don't like it at all. For starters, aesthetically it is quite ugly and bland. The same thing you have the app turned on and it does not warn you of a radar as it warns you late in the next one.
In several trips that I have made in the last time I have been able to verify this.
Additionally and something that it does not do is detect the direction of travel.
I feel like it's the worst money I've invested in a long time.
I downloaded this app as a result of seeing so much publicity for it, but I have to say that instead of so much publicity you have to dedicate yourself to making a quality app and not trying to deceive people by selling smoke.
Completely disappointed.
