For several years the reference application (at least if we are guided by user ratings and the top) for listening to radio in Spain has been Radio FM Spain. And after a while without major updates, now it's finally here a new version that introduces some of the features that we could most miss in an app like this.
Improvements
Clearly the star upgrade of the recent update is the inclusion of a night mode. Thanks to this mode we can enjoy the application with a dark theme, much more pleasant for our eyes in low light conditions, even with the terminal's high brightness. Keep in mind that the radio is used a lot before sleeping, so this feature was a logical improvement for Radio FM Spain.
On the other hand, a system of warning scheduling through which we can be notified so as not to miss our favorite program. These notices are programmable for different days of the week, although if we wish we can also put a single notification without repetition of any kind. An improvement of this type is appreciated because we can centralize the notifications and we do not have to resort to other apps, to which we must add that the corresponding radio opens automatically when we accept the notification.
Without interruptions
In version 4 it seems that the stability of the stations has been improved if possible, so the cuts in the radio should be less frequent even when we use other applications at the same time as the radio. Also the app has been optimized for iOS 10 and works fluently on all terminals, including the Apple Watch, since the data transmission speed between the iPhone and the Apple watch has been significantly improved.
Moving to the design, the employee in previous versions is maintained that follows the guidelines set by Apple, but for this version 4 Some elements and colors have been modified, the most notable being the renovation of the icon for a more modern and accurate version than the previous one.
Radio FM Spain is still a free application, and the developer offers us three options to improve it: one Premium subscription free (with ads), an annual Premium subscription and a Lifetime Premium subscription, which seems reasonable if we use the application very regularly. All these improvements are associated with the account, so we will enjoy them on any terminal, since the app is universal and works on both iPhone and iPad with the same binary.
