I remember over a year ago when Telegram was starting to take off. I have never known why, but I deleted up to two times all my contacts who used the application. iCloud is perfect for making a backup in the cloud but, if it was always in sync, as was my case, when it was deleted from the iPhone, it was also deleted from iCloud, so the contacts were lost without being able to do much about it. Since then, I have saved a backup of my cards on the computer to be able to recover them if I have a similar problem again.
I have never understood why if Apple uses Time Machine for OS X backups and even for documents there was nothing to ensure that we did not lose very important information such as our contacts, but fortunately, It is now possible to restore contacts, files and calendars from iCloud so that we do not worry again (somewhat difficult after my experience with Telegram) due to the loss of this information.
The possibility of recovering these files is available from icloud.com and it is very simple to carry it out. To do this, we will have to do the following:
How to recover data from iCloud.com
- We open the Settings.
- In the lower left corner, in AdvancedWe chose one of the three options.
- We choose what type of data we want to recover and touch on Restore.
Under each type of restoration we will see several warnings. In the case of files, we do not see any warning because nothing is replaced, it is only added again. When recovering a contact file, it warns us that all existing contacts will be replaced by those of the selected date and, as a security measure, a backup will be made of the agenda that we have at that time. When recovering the calendars, we are notified that the same thing will happen as in the contacts, in addition to will delete all shared information and all scheduled events will be deleted and recreated, so event guests will see a cancellation first and then a new invitation.
Although in its day I had to ask to get my contacts back and for me this comes a little late, better late than never and I am glad that Apple has thought about this. I repeat, late, but I can now delete my folder with the backup of my contacts.
