Reddit Releases Official iOS App (iPhone Only)

Official Reddit iPhone App

For a long time, Reddit It was not widely used by large online communities due to the lack of an official mobile client for any platform. As with many other services, this lack was filled by third-party applications, such as Alien Blue or Nargal, which have become popular over the years. But in 2014 Reddit bought Alien blue, an app that has been Reddit's official client for the past 18 months.

Yesterday, Advanced Publications launched (currently not available in Spain) a new official client for iOS what, guess what it's called? Well yes: Reddit. At the same time they released the new official client, Alien Blue has been removed from the App Store, but is still available for iPad. The reason is that the new official application only available for iPhone at the time of writing, although an iPad version will most likely arrive soon and Alien Blue will definitely disappear from Apple's mobile app store.

The official Reddit client comes to the iPhone

Some of the highlights of the new version include compact charts and views, a night mode called "Reddit Night" (which was already available in Alien Blue), an option for "security for work navigation" and support for multiple accounts. In addition, those who use the application in its launch week will receive three month Gold subscription trial, which out of promotion is priced at $ 3.99 per month or $ 29.99 per year.

Those who have tried the application say that it is a very good start, that the card view is very pleasant to be able to see multimedia files and that the compact mode is better to see more articles, such as headlines. I personally haven't tried it, and unless someone explains to me how I could take advantage of Reddit, I'm not going to. Any suggestion?
