Redsn0w adds the option to enter DFU for those who have a broken button

Many times I have been asked on twitter how put the iPhone in DFU mode with the Home button or the Power broken, especially in 3G and 3GS iPhones that already have a lot of use and some of the buttons have stopped working. The DevTeam has implemented in Redsn0w a form of put the device in DFU without using the buttons.

This feature creates a Custom Firmware that will cause your device to enter DFU when the restoration is finished with the same from iTunes. You just have to connect your iPhone, select your firmware and press the "DFU IPSW" option, your firmware will be created and when restoring you will have your iPhone in DFU, ready to jailbreak or whatever you need.

You don't need to have the jailbreak done to use this technique, and be careful because your screen will not put the iTunes symbol but it will be shown completely in black, it will only be iTunes or Redsn0w who detect it.

You can download the new version of Redsn0w here:

When trying to restore to enter dfu mode I get the error 3194 I have saved the ssh with tinyumbrella but it continues to come out ... what I need is to downgrade from the 6.15 baseband but I have the power broken in a 3GS. What do I do?! Thanks

I already believe the custom but it turns out that my iPhone 3G is not activated and iTunes does not let me restore, all the buttons work for my iPhone, it does not go into DFU mode, I do not know what it will be

When restoring using this firmware by iTunes, it modifies the baseband of the iPhone? (my case iphone 3gs ios 5.1.1 baseband 06.15.00)
