Review of the Milanese Loop for the Apple Watch

Apple-Watch-Milanese-03

It has become a bestseller, second only to the cheapest sports straps. The Milanese Loop strap, a nod to traditional watchmaking by Apple, combines excellent materials with a retro design and an exceptional finish and therefore it is a favorite for lovers of steel straps.

We show it to you in video and in images combined with its perfect companion, the steel Apple Watch in its 42mm model.

As a "premium" strap, it comes in a white plastic case, similar to the one on the steel Apple Watch. Protected with the typical plastics, the Milanese Loop comes ready to be placed on your Apple Watch. There are no adjustments or sizes, only one model for the 38mm watch and another for the 42mm that fit all wrists. Only if your wrist is very large or very small could you have problems since the strap adapts from 150mm to 200mm according to Apple specifications.

Taking a first look what stands out at first glance is the quality of its finishes. After watching many videos on the internet of more affordable imitations, of course the difference is more than evident. the braiding is perfect from the first steel cable to the last, without protrusions or asymmetries that spoil the whole. After searching and searching I have not been able to find a single imperfection on the strap, something that does not surprise me given its price but is to emphasize.

It also highlights its flexibility, something that also marks the differences with respect to other imitations. The images can show better than any word how it folds on itself without the slightest problem. This makes it a very comfortable strap to wear that fits your wrist perfectly.

Once placed on the Apple Watch, the finish of the set is really beautiful. I admit that it may be a strap that not everyone likes because of its style, but it fits the Apple Watch like a glove. The hooks that are attached to the Apple Watch are chromed on the side so as not to clash with the Apple Watch and matt on the top and bottom. A hitch is fixed, but the other acts as a buckle through which the Milanese slides without the slightest resistance. By the way, there is no fear of the strap coming off that buckle, the magnetic end at the end of the strap prevents it.

The magnetic closure leaves not the slightest doubt if it will hold, it's much stronger than you can imagine, and even at first it is difficult to remove it with one hand, although soon you will get your own technique to do it quickly. The closure is very stable and does not move. Only by pulling hard on the strap could you slide it, but it is something that you must do intentionally and that will not happen with normal use.

A question that some of you will ask: Hair problems? Well yes, I have suffered some jerkiness, but not because of the braiding as you might think, but because of the part where the strap is doubled, when making the loop. Between the two straps a little hair can enter and hit you, but it is something that will have happened to me a couple of times in the days that I have been using it.

For those who have the sports model I leave you a photo of the Apple Watch Sport 42mm with the Milanese so you can see the final result.

If you like steel straps and giving a retro but at the same time modern touch to your Apple Watch, I don't think you will find a better candidate than this Milanese Loop from Apple, yes, paying a premium price but not exaggeratedJust take a look at the price of similar straps for conventional watches.

Perfect review of the Milanese Loop strap, I liked it a lot.
    With unsurpassed photographic documentation.
What I don't know how it will look on my 42mm aluminum Watch sport
I keep looking for more options.

To avoid damaging the magnetic attachment, you could give it a coat of clear nail polish.
