Rumors point to an iPad mini Pro for the second half of 2021

IPad mini concept

The iPad mini has always been a device to which it seems that Apple never paid enough attention to itHowever, it seems that this could change this year, as various rumors suggest that the Cupertino-based company is planning to launch a Pro version later this year.

The sixth generation of the iPad Mini would receive the surname Pro, so it would receive all the functionalities, or most of those that we can find in the Pro range of this device. This information comes from the Korean medium Naver, who claims that the screen size would go from 7,9 to 8,7 inches.

According to this medium, the iPad mini Pro has passed the R&D phases and is currently in the design phase, so Apple may soon begin design validation testing and then pass production validation before mass production begins.

IPad mini continues keeping the same design than the first model to hit the market in 2012. In 2019, it received a major internal renovation offering support for the Apple Pencil, a display with True Tone technology, bluetooth 5.0 and support for the Apple Pencil.

Ming-Chi Kuo stated a year ago that the next generation of the iPad mini will have a screen between 8,5 and 9 inches. Mac Otakara, a Japanese media outlet, said the screen size would be changed to 8,4 inches, citing supply chain sources. What is clear is that the nine generation of this device will be found between 8 and 9 inches.

Apple will reduce the side frames of the device to keep the same size and will have a similar design to iPad Air 3, with a side button with Touch ID and lightning port, no USB-C, so the Pro last name would not make sense if Apple finally includes it in the name.
