Rando, an application that allows us to exchange photos randomly

Today we share images on many social networks with known people, but Hike It offers us a twist that may be interesting: sharing photos with strangers.

Without being able to choose

In Rando each photo we take will be sent to a random user, just like each photo we receive will arrive from a random user. There are no rules, there are no preferences and there is nothing that can allow us to specify the recipient or apply filters on arrival, which by the way makes this application not recommended for people who do not want to see sensitive material, since the pure random will determine what we see and cannot be filtered.

On the initial screen we will have the photo feed that we accumulate as we receive them from different users, all of them with a circular format. Personally, I do not like this format too much, but it is also true that in the search for originality it was a quite logical step since 99.99% of photography applications go for traditional formats and never for a circle.

Sliding our finger laterally we have the area of the photos sent to other users, so that we can review the captures we have made with an unknown recipient. There isn't much that can be done about it as the app is really antisocial by avoiding all kinds of contact with other users as much as possible.

Missing a point

Although the idea is not bad and the execution is not bad, when you use the application the truth is that you expect something else. The operation is so simple that it is a bit monotonous and although it has been downloaded thousands of times there does not seem to be a massive movement around the application, which logically takes away some grace.

The design is really simplistic And it seems that it hits a lot more with iOS 7 than with iOS 6, so in that aspect they already have the future covered. Perhaps the distribution of some elements on the screen could be improved to take better advantage of the totality of the space, but it is one of the sections where I have been most comfortable with the application without a doubt.

The idea seems good to me, the execution is not bad, but it leaves a flavor that it could be something more interesting than it is. Perhaps precisely the lack of the social part is what makes it too monotonous compared to other applications.
