Samsung could launch its Galaxy Smart Tags to deal with AirTags

Samsung could be working on its own Galaxy Smart Tag

We have been behind the Air Tag from Apple. It is a new accessory capable of attaching to any surface, product or element in order to place it in a specific space thanks to the ultra-broadband technology that Apple has been introducing in its devices in recent years. However, the months go by and we have no news of the product ... and it is something that surprises even the leakers. Other rumors and notes indicate that Samsung could soon launch its Galaxy SmartTag, a product with the same characteristics as the supposed AirTag. A new space where competition will grow more and more in 2021.

What will we see before the Samsung Galaxy Smart Tag or Apple AirTag?

Apple has hinted in its iOS and iPadOS betas lines of code referring to the Air Tag. Not only that, but patents, final prototype designs, and support guides for this product have also been published. This tells us that the launch of this product is getting closer and closer. However, whenever a keynote is coming up and the launch odds are high, we don't see it officially.

From the middle SamMobile they assure that Samsung would be manufacturing the rival against the AirTag that they would call Samsung Galaxy SmartTag. It is a prototype with the model number IE-T5300 and has been found in a multitude of certificates and documents of the Indonesia Telecom company. The ultimate goal of Samsung is to integrate this device that will make use of the ultra-wide band in its ecosystem of SmartThings, the home automation service of the South Korean company.

The purpose of use is very similar to the concept of the AirTag considering that Samsung already has its infrastructure called SmartThingsFind With which you can already find Galaxy devices in a thorough way thanks to the UWB technology available in a large number of products. Take a look at the operation that, most likely, it will share with the Smart Tags:

If SmartThings Find is informed of a lost device, nearby Galaxy series smartphones or tablets that have been enabled to help find the lost devices can report that device to the SmartThings server, and the server alerts back to the user. All SmartThings Find user data is securely encrypted and protected to ensure that the device's location is not revealed to anyone, just its owner.

When will we see Apple's AirTags? Will it be before or after the launch of the Galaxy Smart Tag? We can only wait because it will probably not be until 2021 when we see those products in stores.

Tipical Samsung copies everything ... so that Apple seems that it does not release anything new or innovate, just as we have in the 12 pro and 12 pro Max the dolby vision ... they are already taking them to remove it ... time to time. Galaxy s21 sure does.
