Satechi charging stand and dock for your AirPods Max

We tried the Satechi support for AirPods Max, which is also a MagSafe charging base for your iPhone and has a design that matches the best Apple headphones.

The AirPods Max are wonderful headphones by design and by sound, they are also wonderful for their synchronization between devices, for their automatic connection change, and for functions such as spatial audio. However, almost all of us who have them agree on an unforgivable mistake: Apple offers us headphones that do not turn off (or at least not manually) and that we have to put in an impractical case with a more than questionable design if we want them not to be without a battery when we go to use them.

Satechi offers us a very practical solution to this problem, and that also has a fantastic design, with a quality of materials at the level of Apple's most premium headphones. A support with which we can store our AirPods Max, even have them exposed on our desk or shelf, and at the same time have them loaded, ready to use when we need them. And we also have a MagSafe charging base for our iPhone, or for any device compatible with wireless charging, such as AirPods Pro.

Using premium materials like chrome-plated steel, with a glossy black base design, and a very solid and heavy construction to make it very stable, this AirPods Max stand has two USB-C connections at the base. The first one is to connect it to a power outlet using the USB-C to USB-C cable that is included in the box and a charger of at least 20W which is not included. The second is to connect the USB-C to Lightning cable that allows you to recharge your AirPods Max whenever you need them while they are in their holder. Obviously you can connect any USB-C cable and charge any headphone, it's not limited to AirPods Max.

La base It also has a MagSafe charging disk where you can recharge your iPhone comfortably, with the security offered by the MagSafe system, as long as you have an iPhone 12 or 13 in any of its models. If you don't have this model, you can still use the base as any wireless charger, even with other smartphones from other brands, or with other accessories. For example, I generally use it with my AirPods Pro. The front LED, which is very discreet and won't bother you even in total darkness, will blink very slowly when there is a device charging on the MagSafe disk. The rest of the time, as long as the base is connected to power, it will simply be on.

The holder has a design specifically designed to protect the headband of your AirPods. It has a flat design on the top and is also protected by a silicone padding that, on the one hand, prevents the headphones from slipping, and on the other protect the seemingly delicate mesh of the AirPods Max headband, which personally is surprising me because of how well it is holding up to use and the passage of time.

Satechi has also added an element to the stand which is a boon for those of us who are obsessive about cables. A small piece of plastic strategically placed on the mast of the stand allows you to wrap the AirPods Max USB-C to Lightning cable. Being such a thin and flexible cable, it is perfect not to bulk up too much when rolled up, and it is perfect, almost hidden from anyone's eyes, and yet ready to be used when you need it.

Satechi offers us a support for the AirPdos Max that, simply by design, would already be an almost obligatory purchase accessory. To that we must add a MagSafe charging base for the iPhone and a port to recharge your AirPods Max (or any other headset) while it is placed in its holder.
