Saurik updates Cydia Substrate and is now compatible with the new jailbreak

With Saurik there are never problems. Jailbreak developers can get into disputes, which are sometimes in the form of a race to be the first to launch a jailbreak, include a pirate store (as in evasi0n7), or, as in the previous jailbreak, a team of hackers robs another his code and launches his own jailbreak to use his own store. But all this does not go with the French developer who owns Cydia and almost at the same time as Pangu's tool to jailbreak devices with iOS 9.0 to 9.0.2 has updated Cydia Substrate to be compatible with the new jailbreak.

The new version is 0.9.6000 and, as we can read in his changelog, «Cydia Substrate 0.9.6000 has made big internal changes to be compatible with the latest iOS 9 jailbreak from Pangu«. There is no more point and I would say that it is not necessary, but I would be lying, since there is a general problem that has to be solved, we do not know if it is from Pangu or from Saurik.

The problem I am referring to is a bug where, although a tweak can be installed and appears to work, does not appear in settings from our iPhone, iPod or iPad. Without these settings we will not be able, for example, to add our custom signature to use it as an operator using the Zeppelin tweak, although we can install the tweak and see Batman's operator, which is the operator that comes out by default. Nor can we configure Virtual Home so as not to sink the start button, one of the most used tweaks by any jailbreaker.

However, the speed with which Saurik responded to Pangu's jailbreak makes us think that he was aware that a new tool was going to be released. Most likely, there will soon be a solution that allows us to use a jailbreak that at the moment seems quite stable.

Regarding why the jailbreak has been launched in this version, there are two possibilities: one possibility is that Pangu wanted to be the first to launch the tool, which gives them prestige and also money. The other option, as many of you have pointed out in the comments, is that the latest beta of iOS 9.1 is not vulnerable to the tool they had prepared, so it no longer makes sense to save the exploits for future jailbreaks.
