Apple has taken 3 years to launch a model with an LTE connection, a model that at the moment It is not available in Spain or Mexico and at the moment there are no planned release dates. One of the novelties offered by the Series 3 with LTE connection is the possibility of enjoying Apple Music directly without the iPhone, although as we will see below, it is a very bad idea.
As the Apple Watch has evolved, the battery of the new models that have been arriving on the market has increased, sometimes lasting two days with their respective nights without having to go through the charger. The ability to stream music from our Apple Music account is already available since the release of the final version of watchOS 4.1.
The official battery life of the Series 3 is 18 hours. Apple has updated its guidelines on Apple Watch Series 3 battery life with LTE connection using the internal music player or the streaming music service Apple Music and the results are not very good:
- Up to 10 hours of music playback stored on Apple Watch.
- Up to 7 hours of playback of a playlist with LTE connection.
- Up to 5 hours of playback from a station with an LTE connection.
It has also updated the time of use that the Apple Watch Series 3 offers us with and without LTE connection when we go for a run or we are in the gym:
- Up to 10 hours training indoors.
- Up to 5 hours training outdoors with GPS.
- Up to 4 hours training outdoors using GPS and LTE connection.
- Up to 3 hours training outdoors, playing streaming music via LTE and using GPS.
Apple is usually one of the companies that usually offers a more accurate measurement than the competition, as for the battery life in all its devices, although some disagree if we talk about the iPhone. What is clear is that maintaining the same design at the moment does not allow to expand the size of the battery, so it should not surprise us to see these figures of use, making intensive use of the Apple Watch.
