Some iPad 2 updated to iOS 9.3 cannot be activated

iPad-Air-2

Apple released a couple of days ago, the latest version of iOS 9.3 with a large number of functions, although not all of them are available on all devices, as is the case of Night Mode, only compatible with 64-bit chips. As always happens, if there is no rush to update our device the ideal is always to wait and see how the community reacts. In this case, users who have not yet updated to iOS 9.3 on their iPad 2 are in luck, as Apple's support forums are filling with users who are claiming that this update is turning the iPhone into a brick.

According to Apple at the developer conference in which it presented the new iOS 9, those in Cupertino affirmed that this latest version of iOS is would focus on improving performance and consumption of this latest version of iOS, but until Apple has released several updates to iOS 9, performance on older devices has not improved.

iOS 9.3 seems to be causing problems on some iPad 2, not all devices. Once the latest version is installed, the device stays hung up trying to get activated but never gets itas the process fails over and over again for no apparent reason. From Apple's support page, they assure that it is due to the high demand for activations that Apple's servers are supporting, but 24 hours after the launch, the server continues to reject the activation of this device.

Sometimes this problem is solved by connecting the iPad to iTunes for the latter to take care of the activation. If this is not your case, the only possible solution is restore back to iOS 9.3 erasing all the data that is inside, a method that will not be funny to anyone and that leaves the Cupertino in a rather bad place.

Have you been able to solve your problem with the iPhone 5s? I have the same problem, I restored it from the device, it turns out that it tells me that Apple's activation servers are not available. When pasting the device with iTunes it does not recognize the device therefore I could not do the restoration. Has anyone been able to?

It is true, it happened to me with iPad Air 2, it was left hanging when entering the key to activate with the iTunes account. Until I plugged it in and it recognized iTunes on the Mac via cable. Spend over an hour trying restarts.

My iPad 2 cannot be activated, it has been hours since I updated it and I can not, neither by the device nor by iTunes, if the only solution is to scratch it then I will, I do not want my iPad to remain as a useless device and that stop working

I restored my 0thGen iPad and my iPhone 4s from 5; and the activation was carried out without any problem, this was from Monday.
And today, being Wednesday, I updated my girlfriend's iPhone and the activation was carried out successfully.
I don't know if the problem is if they update via OTA but if they update with their respective .IPSW through iTunes, I am sure they will not have problems, also it is always advisable to update from scratch so as not to drag problems from the previous version.
    regards

How did you update without problem? the restore process of my iphone was not complete. Did you download ios 9.3 from itunes and there you proceeded to update the iphone 5s?

With the iPad Air, I had a VPN, a server in Germany, virtual, of course, being in Spain, and it didn't let me update: disable the VPN, and update to 9.3. Is this your problem?

  18.   Alejandro said

Mariela, but when restoring you lose your data and programs from your iPad 2 or not? Answer me because here in Venezuela the same thing happens with the iPad 2 that do not activate after installing iOS 9.3

I think that if the affected users, because of iOS 9.3, we will have to sue,
if Apple does not allow to recover the devices blocked by iOS 9.3. Let us
to Apple for a few hours to see if they solve this terrible bug, they are also human and
they are wrong. And do not forget, that the Genius Steve Jobs is not. That's why what happened happened
    with iOS 9.3.
