Apple Music, Google Play Music, Spotify, Pandora ... many streaming music services that today are struggling to get users to subscribe to their services. On the other hand, we have platforms like SoundCloud without so many pretensions about achieving an extreme level of users because it was conceived with another purpose: to discover and enjoy music. This platform has achieved that low-level artists have managed to create their own albums thanks to the fact that people discover their music and support it. In addition, it has services to view listener statistics and also monetize its content. The application of SoundCloud for iOS has been updated becoming compatible with Chromecast, to be able to listen to music on our television thanks to the Google gadget.
Listen to music on your TV thanks to SoundCloud and Chromecast
We are always updating SoundCloud to make exciting new music discovery faster and easier. In this version, we have added support for Chromecast, to bring the listening experience to the big screen.
As a reminder, the ability to listen to music through Chromecast and SoundCloud was already available, but in Android devices. The novelty, today, is in the release of version 5.2.1 of the app in the App Store for iOS devices.
Although the description of the new version is not specified, the only requirement to use Chromecast in this service is to have a subscription to SoundCloud GoPro whose prices are:
- GoPro: € 6 per month (or € 55 per year)
- Go Pro Unlimited: € 9 per month (or € 99 per year)
Once we have this subscription we can connect to our Chromecast to play the music on the device to which we have connected the Google gadget. What's more, If multiple people have access to your SoundCloud account, they will be able to modify the playlist that at the moment is sounding. Perfect for a family day out.
