Application SpyMeSat generates a notification when a satellite passes over your location and can take pictures. A dynamic map shows the orbit and location of the satellites above the user-specified location.
Developed in the years when Orbit Logic worked with satellite images, this version is aimed at users outside the aerospace sectors, puddening e intelligence. This application also provides information, education and awareness about satellite imagery to a wider audience, but it is still fun for aerospace specialists.
The SpyMeSat application uses data from the orbit of the NORAD and other public information available from commercial and international satellites for dynamically calculate and display satellite paths and available images. It is almost like having your own spy satellite and also, this new version takes the process a step further, since they are taken by the constellation of satellites of DigitalGlobe, which provide the highest resolution for the public and two new satellites have also been added, the Gaofen-1 (Chinese optical satellite) and the KOMPSAT-5 (South Korean radar satellite).
«Now SpyMeSat users can download recent satellite images with the just as easily as a song can be downloaded or an app, ”Said Alex Herz, president of Orbit Logic. «This is the same resolution as commercial satellite imagery used by government intelligence agencies, but at a fraction of the price. SpyMeSat brings satellite images to an affordable scale.»
Prices start at $ 14.99 for a square image of 1 km on a side. After your in-app purchase, the high resolution file can be downloaded. The biggest difference it presents with Google images is that all of its images are old and in some cases, outdated.
