Throughout the year that we shelved just a few days ago, a large number of HomeKit compatible devices, devices that we can control directly from our iPhone and also from our Apple Watch.
But if we talk about household appliances, the number of devices compatible with the iPhone or Apple Watch is considerably reduced. To solve this problem, Whirlpool has just announced the integration of most of your appliances with the Apple Watch, so that we will be able to manage them comfortably from our wrist.
The appliance manufacturer has made this announcement during the celebration of the consumer technology fair that is being held these days in Las Vegas and where we can find many of the products that will reach the market throughout the year. Some of the functions that these appliances will offer us we connect are:
- Ovens: Check the temperature and change the cooking program settings.
- Washers: Change the washing program when the washing machine is in use and check how much time is left to finish.
- Dryers: Check if the drying cycle has finished and when time is left for it to finish.
Connected appliances seem ready to go the next big thing in smart home technology. Innit last month announced an iPhone app that can send cooking instructions directly from an iPhone app to more than 100 different models of GE Appliances and Bosch Wi-Fi ovens. Currently we can also manage robot vacuum cleaners directly from our smartphone in addition to receiving the corresponding notifications at all times when the cleaning programs that we have previously programmed have been carried out. Light bulbs, switches, thermostats, electrical appliances, blinds, doors, coffee makers ... What will be the next product in our home to be controlled by our smartphone or from our wearable?
