Thanks to AirPods and iPhone X, Apple becomes the most innovative company in the world

The world of Apple is surrounded by statistics, rankings and news that show both the progress and the setback, especially Apple, in many fields. The Fast Company has just published a new classification about lThe World's Most Innovative Companies in 2018, where Apple tops this ranking.

Apple was last year in the fourth position of this ranking, but thanks to the products it launched last year like the iPhone X, the ARKit virtual reality platform, the Apple Watch Series 3 and the AirPods, the company has advanced to the top position.

While is true that The AirPods were presented in the last quarter of 2016 and they were put on sale at the end of that same year, it was not until last year, when the success of these wireless headphones from Apple has stood out above all manufacturers, thanks to the fact that they are not only compatible with the products from Apple, but is also compatible with any other device that has a bluetooth connection, although the interaction with them is not the same as what we can find with Apple products.

As we can read in the report that the company has presented to announce the classification for this year, we can read:

For a company that has been unsuccessful since the launch of the iPad in 2010, Apple had a remarkable track record in 2017: AirPods have become ubiquitous in many countries, the Apple Watch Series 3 has been a bestseller, the most skeptical were surprised with the iPhone X and its new design and the developers adopted ARKit with which Apple wants to make its pines in Augmented Reality.

The latter is more than debatable, since the interest of developers when launching Augmented Reality applications or games has decreased as the months have passed, an interest that could increase when Apple presents its own device that allows us to enjoy this technology in a different way which is currently offered by both the iPhone and the iPad.

However they were not the only reasons why the company has advanced to lead the ranking, as Fast Company also praises the ambitious software and hardware projects, highlighting the work it has done in recent years in the manufacture of its own chips. Fast Company also claims that Apple has also made interesting progress in artificial intelligence despite the fact that the most direct competition, Google and Amazon, is still a long way off.

In second position of this classification we find Netflix, followed by Square, Tencent and Amazon in fifth position, a company that last year topped this category. The rest of the company that head the top is made up of Patagonia, CVS Health, The Washington Post, Spotify and NBA. It is striking that as much as Google, like Facebook and Uber have disappeared from this ranking of the 50 most innovative companies in the world, when in the past they were in the second, sixth and third position respectively.
