The "always on display" function of the Series 5 consumes too much battery

Apple Watch Studio

It seems that users who have been using the new Apple Watch Series 5 for days have a "problem" with their battery and that is that according to what they say, this battery does not last the same hours as approximately they had with the Apple Watch Series 4.

All this has its own appreciations and there are users who do achieve the same autonomy with the Series 5 as with the previous Series 4, but of course, what comes out in the media, on the Internet and others is the negative. It seems that in this case the promise of 18 hours of autonomy would not be being fulfilled and part of the blame is put on the always-on screen.

There are several details to take into account before affirming all this

And is that the autonomy of the watch is approximate and obviously will depend on the number of notifications, use and other details. What is clear is that the battery does not last the same for all of us, neither in the Apple Watch Series 4, Series 3 and neither in the new Series 5. Personally I have no complaints about the battery of my Apple Watch Series 4 but depending on the day, notifications, exercise hours, calls, etc, I can arrive with more or less capacity at the end of it, so I imagine that with the Series 5 it will be the same but there are many complaints that it is not so.

Several users of the new Apple Watch Series 5 are perceiving less autonomy in their watches than they had with the previous models, so it is mainly believed that if the use is more or less the same, the problem may be related to the always-on display also known as "always on display". Do you have the new Series 5 on your wrist? Do you notice a higher battery consumption despite what Apple commented in the keynote regarding autonomy? Tell us your impressions in the comments.

In the Apple Watch S3 before iOS 6 it lasted up to two days and with the update I reached the end of the day with 15% it does not even leave 12 hours of use, something is wrong in that version, that's why the beta 6.1 is already there because surely they already realized that the battery is draining us

I come from a series 3 which lasted up to 2 days with no problem.
On Friday September 20 I bought the series 5 and I have to charge it every night, the battery flies ...
I can't compare it with the series 4, but the difference with the series 3 that I had is brutal.

Has anyone noticed a lower battery in series 5 compared to series 3 or 4?

It seems that excess consumption is confirmed ...

Let's see if it stabilizes with the passage of the new versions

    Regards!

I have also noticed that the consumption is much more than what I had in the apple wAtch series 4. Now the series 5 consumes much more and configured the same. I have already made a change and with the new one, the same thing happens to me which I want someone who has it to confirm it for me. I wear it to save consumption with the screen off but in the two that I have had, I don't know if it is software or that when you turn on with your finger to activate the screen it sometimes takes almost two seconds. It does not happen every time but it does happen very frequently. The same when instead of activating the screen with your finger you do it with the rotary button, there are times that it also fails. I would like to know if it happens to someone else because it has already happened to me with two series 5, I have unlinked it again and it remains the same. Even when a notification comes to you, it vibrates, but it still takes almost two seconds for the notification's red dot to appear. But what most pissed me off is the continual waiting many times after pressing the screen before it turns on. So far I have not seen any comments and apple still does not find out what there is after calling them.

Indeed, I bought the series 5 a few days ago and I charge it daily, in the series 3 I charged it every two days, even doing sports it lasted that long. My consumption? Exactly the same or even less compared to series 3. The fins on screen should be optional. Clock disappointment so far, speaking at the level of battery consumption.

Hello. I confirm that the S5 battery lasts much less than that of my previous S4. Today, however, I have disabled the "always-on display" for testing and the battery lasts a lot longer. So from now on I will leave the option disabled by default and activate it when I need it.

The battery life on my Apple Watch S5 lasts just 9 hours, warning me that it is low on battery (10%)
The use I give it is very normal, some calls and some notifications without having used the sport functions yet, but it seems to me a very bad battery life.
I have been active the screen all day, today I will deactivate this function to see if it improves the battery consumption.
I would like to know if this is a problem with the battery of my smartwach or with the version of the operating system that it carries.
