With the release of the Apple TV app for the Xbox, Apple introduced Dolby Atmos support, however, support for Dolby Vision was left in the pipeline. Fortunately, Xbox users who use this device as a media center have not had to wait long to enjoy this quality of sound.
Microsoft has announced that the Apple TV application for the Xbox Series X and Series S, will receive a new update throughout this week, a update to include support for Dolby Vision to "enjoy an unparalleled experience" of the content available through Apple TV, according to the Redmond-based company.
According to Microsoft:
Discover an extraordinary entertainment experience with the ultra-vivid image of Dolby Vision. Enjoy a wider color spectrum with lights up to 40 times brighter and blacks 10 times darker than a standard image.
The first thing users should do is check if the Dolby Vision logo It is located at the bottom of the movie or series playback page in the Apple TV application or during playback by pressing the B button on the remote.
Along with this update, Microsoft also adds support for Spotify Video Podcasts, Discovery +, Paramount + and IMDb TV among many other new options available through the Microsoft Store of the Xbox.
Microsoft and Apple released the app Apple TV for Xbox Series X and Series S at the beginning of last November, a few days before the new generations of consoles from both Microsoft and Sony hit the market.
