The Apple Watch is not a waterproof watch

Yesterday the Apple Watch, the apple company's watch whose launch is expected in early 2015 without specifying a specific month. Much has been said about the smartwatch and Apple has jumped into the pool with a product that has been designed to complement the iPhone, offering a totally different experience than what we were used to.

The fact that the watch will not come out until 2015 seems to have served Apple to omit certain details of the watch that we may not like so much, such as its battery duration which is still a mystery.

Another detail that has been found out about the Apple Watch is that we will not be able to submerge it in water, although it does offer resistance to splashes, rain, etc. This is a major downside to a watch, especially for those who already imagined swimming with it but the reality is that the water does not quite get along with the gadget.

Leaving these problems aside, it has also been possible to learn more about its operation. For example, we can place app layout to our liking, just press an icon for a few seconds and then we can move it to the desired position. This method is similar to the one we already use to move applications around the springboard on iOS.

We also have the functionality «Ping My iPhone»Which consists of playing a sound on our iPhone through the clock. This is a way to create an audible alert to locate the terminal in case we do not know where it is.

Finally, the offline operation The watch will allow you to perform some tasks such as payments through Apple Pay, music playback via Bluetooth, recording user activity or running certain applications.

The Apple Watch is expected to hit the market in early 2015 for a starting price of U.S. dollar 350 for the simplest model.

I loved the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus except for the camera that sticks out all right, I loved the Apple Watch in the same way BUT since it damn well everyone seems to only know how to "run" I mean, it's not the only sport and I practice swimming and the truth is that I do not see him married saving for a watch that I will only be able to see notifications and that's it, but the iPhone 6 Plus I think will be my first iPhone;) Greetings !.

I'm not so sure it's not submersible. About minute 4.20 of the presentation video, he talks about "water resistant being" ... I don't know what he will mean ... but I think he refers to the fact that it will be water resistant.

Water resistant is water resistant, waterproof is that you can submerge it. If Water Resistant is accompanied by a figure, it indicates the number of meters or atmospheres it can hold. As already said in the article, the Apple Watch will be resistant to water (rain, sweat, washing hands) but as you shower with it or go to the pool, goodbye. Greetings!

    Hello Nacho,

But washing your hands or showering with it could be very similar to some. Showering after all is not submerging it. It would be something similar to the promotional image that a boy sees under the water tap with the clock. How waterproof is it? It seems to me a somewhat ambiguous statement on the part of Apple. I should specify a bit more I think. We will see when the date of truth approaches. But pay that fortune for a "gadget" that is supposedly destined for Health apps and there is also a version called SPORT. I do not see much SPORT and health if it is not submersible.

    Thank you,
    Regards!

My passion for watches tells me that even if it is waterproof, it is not good to shower with it even if we are not going to submerge it. Promotional videos are just that, promotional videos. Do not doubt that if the Apple Watch gets water after a shower, Apple will tell you that it was your fault, well, Apple and any other watch brand that does not certify that their product can be submerged.

Even after several years, all waterproof and submersible watches must be replaced with the rubber they are wearing to prevent the entry of water. Over time they deteriorate, become rigid and lose properties. Ultimately, the watch is no longer watertight and may be in danger.

I myself have been one of those who, for a while, have used the square iPod Nano as a watch and one day without realizing it I got into the shower with it. This product is also not waterproof and held up like a champ, even with water entering through the audio jack. Of course, warranty invalidated and several days to a jar with rice but it still worked.

The best thing is not to risk it for many photos in which we see an athlete pouring a liter of water on him. A shower is much more aggressive in this regard, even if it seems otherwise.

      Regards!

That is called confusing the buyer ,,, because if it is not submersible because they are trying to see something else, because this in my town is going to be queasy!
They do not know what they are going to do to nail it to us

I do not know you but I expected something more from the iwatch seeing the rest of the competition watches does not contribute anything new except to be able to zoom ... why do you want the zoom of the maps on such a small screen? iphone !!! I thought they would innovate a little more and take out a groundbreaking watch but for the price that will come, it seems to me that this first version will not be worth it

I did not like the iPhone 6 at all, the design does not look like Apple (those lines that do not paint anything and that ring that protrudes ...) and it does not have any incredible news. I keep my iphone 5S which is prettier, smaller and does not look like a Samsung or LG, it looks like an Apple iPhone.

And about the Watch… well, it's fine and it seems interesting, but I think Apple has made a kind of beta bet (inside and out) to present the Watch 2 as the best of the best.

Anyway ... a Keynote overrated by Apple, which leaves the feeling of being a presentation of LG phones and Sony watches.
Nothing lasts forever, the innovation and revolution of Apple has died with Steve Jobs, no matter how much Tim Cook continues in his yuppie world and does not see it.
