I have to admit that I've always been drawn to Microsoft's Surface: that keyboard with which to write without difficulties, the portability of a device that we can use to do a multitude of things without limitations, the rear support to place it in the most comfortable position for us, the pointer ... Although it is true that if we talk of multitasking, the new version of iOS 9 will allow us to do it without problems, at least in the most modern models, the rest of the aspects that I like at the moment are not feasible at least by Apple.
But thanks to Logitech, we can get hold of the new case that has just been introduced, Logitech Block, with which we can add a keyboard (attached by magnets to the device) and a protective case with stand to place our device in the appropriate inclination to our needs. Also if we dock the set, lowering the iPad towards the keyboard, we find a device very similar to the Microsoft Surface 3 tablet / laptop.
The quality of the guys at Logitech both to design cases and to create keyboards I think is beyond doubt. The last keyboard that I could try from the firm was the Key-to-go, resistant to liquids, excellent keyboard in size, touch, key travel, ergonomics ... something to which we are accustomed.
But already put to buy a keyboard for the iPad, the most advisable and comfortable thing is a cover that has a keyboard and that allows us to create an easy-to-transport set. Both the union of the cover of the device with the keyboard and the closure to join both devices, is done by magnets, which assure us enough security not to be afraid of it being opened while we transport it.
The Logitech Block rear stand we can place it from 20 to 70 degreesregardless of whether the keyboard is attached to the device or not. The protection of the case protects our device from accidental drops. As is happening with the latest keyboards also presented at the IFA in Berlin, manufacturers have chosen to add non-rechargeable batteries. In this case this keyboard is powered by two batteries type CR2032 They don't ensure a year of trouble-free battery life.
As with most keyboards designed for iPad, in the top row we find most of the shortcuts to the typical iOS cuts, such as Siri, music playback, multitasking, lock button ... In the next row we find the row of numbers with a traditional design along with typical characters displayed at a good size. Regarding the keyboard, as it happens with most of the models of this manufacturer, allows us to write long texts without discomfort or long learning curves to adapt to the size of the keyboard and the keys.
The Logitech Block keyboard is currently only compatible with the iPad Air 2It has a weight of 645 grams and measures 251,5 mm long, 184,5 mm high and 22 mm wide. The connection is made as usual by bluetooth, it is repellent to liquids in case of accidental spills and has LEDs on the keyboard to indicate its operation. Logitech Block is priced at $ 129.
